It's a beautiful day for a walk!
Pet care experience
I've always been a dog-lover and dog-wanter, but due to my mom's allergies and my current apartment's rules, I've never been a dog-haver. My grandma was a big influence on me when it came to pets. She always had dogs, and she taught me basic commands, how to greet and pet them, and other aspects of care. Most importantly, she taught me by example the positive effects dogs have on our lives. I stayed with a friend for a summer and cared for her dog, Bonnie, an anxious Border Collie/Lab mix who was 5 at the time. I'd visited their house often before living there, so Bonnie was familiar with me. Of course, she had some reservations at first - especially when going on solo walks or waiting with me while my friend ran errands. I kept my distance at the right moments, and with some consistency, Bonnie got comfortable. That summer confirmed my plan to become a dog-haver and spend as much time with dogs as possible. Note: I only hesitate to care for XL dogs since I'm very short, I have less experience with them, and I want you to feel 100% confident in my relationship with your dog.
Reviews
Mary is great! She always goes above and beyond with my Penny. She's very easy to reach and very informative with her rover card. She'll answer all my crazy dog mom questions with no hesitation. I feel confident having her walk my pup!
Mary is EXCELLENT with our dog and in interactions with us. She is prompt when replying to messages, polite, and incredibly reliable. I have used Mary at least 3 times and find myself consistently going back to her whenever I have dog walking needs and am reluctant to use anyone else. I would highly recommend using Mary if you have a need!
Mary's a fantastic fit for my three dogs! I have a husky, a corgi, and a retriever but she was able to along with all three. Being able to balance all three takes skills (trust me!) She is very reliable and would answer texts/ calls promptly. Very likable and patient demeanor. Highly recommend to any pet parent!

Information Mary C. would like to know about your pet
I like to know any nicknames the dog has, if they have a favorite toy, object, or activity, dietary needs, and how they've been trained/what commands they respond to. For walking, I also need to know how they typically react to other dogs and new people. If they have special needs like anxiety, I like to ask if there's anything that comforts them beyond just the proper care/protocol (Bonnie liked daytime TV and Celtic music). I don't have any breed preferences, but I'm a sucker for eyebrows.
A typical day
I love walking on my own, but walking with a dog reminds me to look at everything I see with a renewed sense of wonder and curiosity.
