Pet care experience

While I don’t have pets right now, being a pet sitter means I get to enjoy time with amazing animals and help out their owners as well. It’s rewarding to be able to give back to my community by taking care of the animals that bring joy and love to the hardworking members of it. When I’m not pet sitting, I enjoy spending time with friends and hobbies like reading, writing, hiking, and exploring the city. I love being around people and experiencing all the life around me. Having the opportunity to help others makes me the happiest! Growing up on a small, family farm in rural Utah, we always kept 4 - 5 dogs and 2-3 cats among the usual array of farm animals, giving me a life time of experience. After striking out on my own I often found myself caring for friend's pets. Being a lover of animals and children, and having recently switched to part-time nanny work, I am happy for the chance to spend some time taking care of furry bundles of love as often as I can. I'm really looking forward to spending time with your pet and learning all about them! Please feel free to reach out to me for more information.

MaryBeth was fantastic with my Copper. It was the first time for me and my pup to utilize a house/dog sitter with Rover. Marybeth was eager to accommodate both of us and make us feel comfortable. She sent pictures and updates everyday.

I have a rescue Dachshund that is a tiny bit neurotic. I was incredibly anxious about leaving her, even for a long weekend. Thankfully she warmed up to Mary Beth quickly & I didn't have to worry about a thing. I could tell my little girl was happy & well cared for. I'm very grateful!

Mary Beth is the best! She took AMAZING care of Koda and our home while we were away. I got lots of updates and photos, and she was super responsive and flexible with the stay. I can tell that Koda had a great weekend and got lots of exercise, love, and attention. Our home also looked cleaner than we left it! If you are looking for a responsible and caring sitter, Mary Beth is your girl! Would definitely have her sit for us again!

Safety, trust & environment

I currently don't offer pet care in my home. For a drop in: Upon arrival, spend a few minutes greeting and petting the dog/cat. If the pet is a dog we then go for a walk and/or play outside (when possible). Food and water is then refreshed and more petting/play time for reassurance before I leave. If the pet is a cat, I check/refresh feed and litter, spend some more time petting/playing with the cat before leaving. When I am staying at the clients home I spend extra time giving attention in different parts of the house, letting them acclimate to me being in their environment. The rest is normal to how I would do a drop in visit.

Information Mary Beth D. would like to know about your pet

Just like people, each animal has their own personality and preferences. It's good to know the general personality, like and dislikes, allergies, medical issues, social issues, habits, typical ways of communicating wants/needs. Also, as with children, people train/raise their pets differently. Therefore, I would like to know the style of training, boundaries, rules, etc. so I can give as consistent and similar care to what your pet is used to as possible.

A typical day

Generally walking through neighborhood or a trip to a nearby dog park will be ideal. If the dog is one for playing catch or chase (in the style of running with me, practicing 'fake out' moves like ball-players ;-)) of course we'll partake in those as well.
