I treat dogs as if they were mine
Pet care experience
I have been talking care of other peoples pets for 25 plus years. I primarily worked as a preschool teacher, much of that time was part time so I was able to have the other time to care for the Dogs under my care. Working with children has taught me to have a lot of patience and to try to see the world through their eyes. I believe that these skills transfer to the caring for dogs and caring for dogs has taught me lots about young children. I feel a strong connection to animals, especially to dogs and in doing so they feel connected to me. I have cared for all ages of dogs and various sizes. I have given meds when needed. My last dog, Chris, was part Newfound and part Australian Shepard who weighed about 75 lbs and loved, loved the water -- I still miss him. I miss his special personality; he was a fun doggie. I loved seeing him run free where it was okay to do so, and he had a smile on his face up to the end. I like meeting new doggies and getting to know them each as individuals and their likes and dislikes, always an adventure and exciting.

We left our anxious little dog with Mary Anne for 3 weeks while we were on a trip outside the country. We were worried since this was the first time we left him with a sitter. Our dog settled down really well with Mary Anne. She is loving and understands dogs very well. We are so glad to have found Mary Anne and will look no further for our future dog sitting needs.
It was the first time we left our senior dog with a sitter and it couldn’t have gone better! Mary Anne took amazing care of my little pup with big personality. Mary Anne followed all the feeding and walking directions meticulously and sent daily updates with photos. I felt right away that Mary Anne is experienced with dogs of all ages and personalities (like mine, who despises other dogs). I am so happy I met Mary Anne and now have a reliable and caring person to take care of Bimba when I need to travel. I can’t recommend her enough!
MaryAnne took wonderful care of my pup. I don’t think I’ve ever had him seem so happy at a sitters and he was calm and content when I went to pick him up. MaryAnne was attentive to all his needs and communicative throughout. Would definitely book again!
I have used Mary Anne for both a long and a short stay and both times have been great. I appreciate her patience with Coco and her willingness to care for a dog with high anxiety!

I have a small fenced backyard area and a park near by were I can walk the doggies, it is not a dog park just a grassy area for the dogs to walk on with a lease around the area. It has a playground in the middle from where I walk.

I would like to know if the dog knows basic commands like sit, come, stay etc. What are their likes or dislikes, any fears they may have. Are they outgoing or shy around other people and other animals. Are they aggressive or passive, just in general "who they are". I have no breed preferences I have cared for all types and sizes.
A typical day
I sometimes take my daughter's dog, Sohpie, to a dog park where she gets to play with other dogs. I have also found an off leash area in San Carlos, where my daughter lives and Sophie just loves to run there, in and out of the bushes. She is pretty good about catching a ball which I like to throw with the throwing "thing". I also enjoy taking the dogs to places that are new and exciting. There is something special and valuable about adventuring in places that are new. I believe it is important to take dogs (and people) to places that they have never seen in order to keep them excited about life. Those are just some of the things I enjoy doing with dogs in my care -- of course, all of this depends on the needs and likes of each individual dog.

I am retired and am home all day. I can be with the doggies I care for almost all the time except for going to the store.
