Pet care experience

Let me introduce myself... My name is Marrion Ore and I have lived in St Pete for coming on three years now, but I've been in the area for close to seven! Before settling in here, I was a third generation farmer where we were a bit of a sanctuary for animals: Though we had plenty of goats, poultry, and even a pony named Larry, we were often the go-to place for our community's animals that were stray, sick, or just needing lots of pasture to run on. When I moved here, I brought along my favorite Great Pyrenees named Theo and he was so relaxed with other dogs in the house that I began boarding dogs and cats in my home. It felt natural for me to take care of others' pets and build a connection with the furbaby families, so now here I am doing it full-time. When your pet stays with me, they're staying with family. We cuddle in bed, play with toys, make homemade treats, go on pet-friendly outings (with permission of course) and enjoy other enrichment in my fenced in back yard, like bubble machines, colorful party lights, and chasing remote control cars! I know that your baby misses you so their sleepovers should feel more like a slumber party at their cousin's house! While my specialty is pet boarding, I also offer walks, doggy daycare - I can pretty much handle anything you throw at me, cause that's what family does. If you have any questions, please feel free to message this page or contact me directly. I’m a full time pet sitter so animal and pet care is my number one priority and is what I center my entire day around. I have a fenced in yard and indoor doggy play area in my garage, with a large industrial fan, enrichment toys, comfy beds, extra crates, and even a kiddy pool for the hot days. All day is play time and cuddle time if the animal is okay with that. Otherwise, the dog can decompress in one of the bedrooms if they need to relax! Breed specialities - While I am comfortable with ALL breeds, I have the most experience with working dogs like terriers, livestock guardian (Great Pyr, Anatolian, etc), GSH, and similar. I know my way around any dog, but I am a great resource for health/safety/training needs for the breeds listed above just because those are the dogs I’ve been around all my life. Puppies - I’ve raised a ton of puppies, so I’m very patient with them. My house is all tile and my own dogs are part Great Pyr - known as the “gentle giant” of the dog world, so they are great with pups too. Doggy daycare or boarding your young puppy with me is a great option as I’m open to helping with training and positive reinforcement, and I have the time, space, and atmosphere to do so. Crating/Kenneling - I only crate upon request, so please let me know if your furbaby needs to be crated at night or when alone. Since this is a career for me, there is always someone at home 98% of the time. Between myself and my employee who is my brother that lives with me, your fur baby will not spend any extended amounts of time in a crate unless requested. I do have extra crates, so let me know if you don’t feel like packing yours up! This also means that if you choose to not crate your dog, your dog will sleep wherever they choose - in the bed, on the couch, on the floor! Meds/Specialty care - I’ve administered medications, I’ve injected insulin, I’ve delivered baby goats and I’ve neutered Billy goats. If you have any questions of special needs care, let me know. Feeding - All of my dogs are fed separately in a rotation, matching their requested feeding time as close as possible. We do this for safety. If your dog is a grazer like mine, I’ll make sure to keep their food out in a separate part of the house that they know where to access so they can eat how they would like. The dogs always have access to fresh water in a 3 gallon bowl and a shorter, smaller bowl for my little ones, but just let me know if your pup “overdrinks” water so I can accommodate accordingly! Treats - We feed treats on a normal basis, for obedience and general spoiling. We generally have milk bones, carrots, green beans, and apple slices. If your pet has any allergies or treat limitations, just let me know. :) My house - I live in my home with my two sisters and my brother in law. Our home is all tile, with a screened in patio, and a fenced in yard that has sand, grass, and gravel, and our garage is converted to be doggy friendly as listed above. All areas are doggy friendly and safe, but we have a gate in the kitchen just for safety and keeping curious snouts out of trouble! Flexibility - Flight changes happen. Life happens. I do this full time, so just let me know if you need to modify a booking for care. Many of my regulars have hectic schedules to accommodate, so I generally can take your pup as early as 6:30 am to 10pm. Let me know if you need something different! Cats - Though I specialize in dogs, I grew up with cats too, and my first pet that stole my heart was an all grey Main Coon that loved to shred paper and strictly enforced “our” bed time. I’d be happy to help with your kitty - just give me a shout! I believe I have covered a LOT here, so if you’re reading this, I apologize for how lengthy it is LOL. Should you have any more questions, just let me know. Updated Jan 2023

Marrion is so wonderful with our puppy Luna! She stays long hours on the weekend with Marrion at doggy day care and comes home tuckered out from having fun all day! We trust Marrion completely and would highly recommend her to anyone. And we can tell Luna just loves her!! She is communicative, honest, caring, and so accommodating. She is the best!!!

Marrion is the best! Super accommodating and amazing with Benny. While boarding him, he had his first birthday and she celebrating with him, pup cake and all! Definitely goes above and beyond.

Information Marrion O. would like to know about your pet

Some of the basics that I like to cover whenever I meet my clients is health issues and allergies, sensitivities and reactivities to anything that could be triggering, food and potty schedules, toys and enrichment that they are or are not allowed to engage with, places that they can or cannot go with me or any other specifics that the parent finds important to note.

A typical day

When I wake up in the morning, we start with potty breaks and then enrichment usually starts with the dogs’ breakfast by using an engaging game or snuffle mats. After letting their tummies rest from eating, We usually either play outside, go on a walk, or directly to the dog park just around the corner. At least once a week I love to take my dogs and other dogs that I’m able to to a local dog beach or specifically to Gandy beach where I hang up a zip line for the dogs leashes so that they can enjoy the sun and sand them self. If we don’t go to Gandy beach, we normally go to the dog bar for to one of the other dog parks in Saint Pete, or try to do something especially mind-stimulating. Afterwards, we usually clean up, head home for dinner, snuggles and normal playtime before more potty breaks and bedtime - most of my dog clients sleep wherever they want or in my bed!
