While you're away, we will play in a huge, fenced back yard, nap in a dog pile in cool shade on the patio, and we will definitely have arts and crafts days. I'm guessing your dog is a better artist than you realize. ;) I'm an illustrator who works from home. I have a dog, a cat, and a parrot who are my family. All of us love small to medium dog visitors. Your dog will get all the love and attention I give my own. If it's pet care in your home you need, then know that early morning drop-in visits are no problem, and if you have other animals, that's fine. I have many years' experience with dogs, cats, alpacas, sheep, chickens, ducks, reptiles, and others. Geriatric and special needs pets are welcome. Leave their care to me, and have peace of mind knowing that even though they will miss you, they will be safe and happy while you're away.

Doggy daycare with Marlaena has been the best thing for Poppy! Since she has been going to her, she has become more social and she's a much calmer puppy - now young lady, too. Poppy loves seeing her BFFs (best furry friends) and jumps out of her Poppy seat when we pull into the driveway. It's always a fun day with Marlaena!
This is the second time our pup has stayed with Marlaena. We absolutely love how she treats our dog as if they were her own. She is always in contact with and you can be sure that your puppy is getting the best care possible. Our dog was really excited when we dropped her off and was ready to go and play in her yard with the other pups. I really can't say enough good things about Marlaena.

I don't have breed preferences. All the dogs are good dogs. For dogs who stay in my home, they need to be socialized small or medium dogs. Exceptions may be made for super mellow larger dogs, depending on who else is staying with me at the time. I need to know that everyone gets along before the stay commences, so a meet and greet is important.
A typical day
We can go walking three times a day if the pavement is not too hot, but the back yard is a safer option. There's plenty of room to run off-leash, which is more fun anyway. We will play light training games, and then we might have a nap. Everyone is allowed wherever they'd like to be. Oh! Arts and crafts will happen.
