Trustworthy-Home & Hotel Pet Care!

Pet care experience

PLEASE NOTE: Sometimes my schedule shows I am not available for a specific day only because I have a conflict for part of that day. Tuesdays are a good example of this. You can always reach out to me to see if my schedule has flexibility to serve your pet care needs. I am a retired business & medical executive and I know how hard it can be to leave your family members when traveling for work or a fun get-away. I traveled a lot with my job, and it was tough to finding someone I truly trusted to care for my dogs. I know what a big leap of faith it is to turn over the keys of your home and place the care of your pets to a stranger. I am fully vaccinated and boosted for Covid-19. If you entrust me with your family member(s), you can be assured that they will be well cared for while you are away. I will follow through on your care instructions; your pets and your home will be protected and respected. I have extensive experience caring for Dogs, Cats, Birds (including parrots), Fresh & Saltwater Fish, Turtles, Tortoises, Rodents, Rabbits, Reptiles, Poultry, and even cared for a worm farm once. I also have extensive experience caring for pets recovering from injury/surgery, medication administration, and pets with severe medical conditions like epilepsy. I have completed the American Red Cross Cat & Dog First Aid and CPR training class in September 2022. . For the past 25+ years I have always lived with 2 dogs (or more) in my home. I believe that the pet-human relationship only works when you respect each other. I do not believe that aggression, neglect, or physical violence is an appropriate way to care for any animal. I offer various types of services for your pets. For each service I work with you to understand your pet’s needs, activity level and schedule and will match their same routine. For all of my services you can be assured that I will arrive on time, I will follow the care plan we establish, I will provide you with multiple photos and written status reports, I will respect your privacy, and most importantly I will take great care of your pets! I am a very direct and honest person. If you have more questions about me, please ask. I hope I can earn your business, but I encourage you to take your time and find the person who makes YOU the most comfortable caring for your pets! Thank you for considering me. I am retired and I have total control of my schedule and that gives me lots of flexibility. I work with my clients to meet their scheduling needs. I work with my clients in advance to set up a care schedule. My goal is to maintain your pets current schedule, including feeding, sniffing breaks, sleep schedule, etc. I provide services in your home, hotel, or vacation rental. I have two rescue dogs that are very protective, so I normally do NOT care for pets in my home, but there are always exceptions for special circumstances, let’s talk about your needs.

Cathy and Mark were phenomenal! Best dog sitter around. I highly recommend them. They updated me several times a day with photos and an overview each time of how the day was going and I could tell that they really took pride in the care of my animal. I will definitely use them again!! Thanks Mark and Cathy.

Information Mark P. would like to know about your pet

I like to keep your pets on their normal schedule so tell me what their normal day looks like. When do they wake up, eat, snooze, exercise, potty, and go to bed. Also please share the following: - Veterinarian information. - Any special diet, medications, supplements, special toy or music/TV they like. - If you have a local emergency contact, share their contact information, just in case I can’t immediately reach you. - Tell me about any health concerns, physical limitations or injuries. - Normal mood and behavior patterns so I can watch for signs of separation anxiety. The more information I have the better the visit your pet will have.

A typical day

For each service I offer I meet with you and your pet(s) face-to-face to make sure I am the right fit for you and your pet(s) needs. During this meeting I work with you to understand your pet’s current routine, habits, and activity level. My goal is to keep them on their current schedule of care. I answer any questions you may have and together we create a care plan that will be used to structure the visits. For all my services you can be assured that I will arrive on time, I come alone, I will follow the care plan we establish, I will provide you with multiple photos and written Visit Activity and Wellness report, I will respect your privacy, and most importantly I will take great care of your pets! DOGGY DAY CARE: What You Can Expect From Me --- - Your dog will enjoy the full-time companionship of a friendly human while away from home. Your pups will never be unsupervised. - A clean, air conditioned and safe home to enjoy. - Access to fresh water at all times. - A fenced, landscaped, dog safe backyard in a quiet neighborhood. - I only sit one pet family at a time so your dog will not be exposed to other dogs. - Couch and bed sleeping allowed. - No cages (unless this is a pet parent request). - Morning walk to get some wiggles out (with pet parent permission and weather permitting). - Feeding and treat schedules customized for your pups. - On-Time medication and/or supplement administration as needed. - Photos and updates throughout the day. - Water play (wading pool and splash pad) if your dog enjoys the water. I just ask that your pups be: - Fully potty trained. - Proof your pups are current on the following vaccinations: 1: Rabies 2: Distemper/Parvo (DHPPV) 3: Bordetella - In good health - Written medication/supplement instructions - Sorry but we do not accept aggressive dogs DOG WALKING: What You Can Expect From Me -- - Your dog(s) will get in a FULL 30 or 60 minute walk. - I arrive on time and alone, and I won’t snoop through your things. - You will get photos of your dog(s) from the visit and a detailed digital map of the path we walked. - You will get a written Health and Wellness report of how your dog(s) is doing and how the walk went. - I use a properly fitted full body harness & weight strength leash to prevent any chance of escape or injury. - I plan walk routes in advance to make certain that the route is safe. I avoid busy streets, dogs off leash, and other hazards like construction zones, hot pavement, etc... - Immediate phone communication with you if any problems come up with your pet. A TYPICAL 30- MINUTE WALK BOOKING looks like this: I arrive and greet your pet, check for any problems or inside accidents and clean them up. I put on their harness, and we go out and walk for at least 30 minutes. I lock your home when we depart. When we get back home; I refill all water bowls with fresh water, top off food bowls as needed, hand out treats to good dogs, give medications if scheduled, and write up a Visit Activity and Wellness report while your pet calms after the walk. Just before I depart, I make sure your pet is safe and your home is locked & alarms armed. I send you the Visit Activity and Wellness report to you as the last thing I do before I drive away from your home. All of this means that I will be with your pet for longer than scheduled 30 minutes. ON THE WALK: I let your dog(s) set the pace. I will not pull or drag them along. I allow them time to sniff and explore along the route. I try to avoid other dogs and children for safety reasons, so sometimes we will change directions, cross streets, etc. to avoid potential problems. I always clean up after your dog(s) if they poop on the walk. I never let dogs in my care off lead. I am flexible and open to designing an individual walk program that meets your needs and fits the capabilities of your pet. If this sounds like what you are looking for, book me today and let’s get started. DROP-IN VISITS: What You Can Expect From Me – - No Drop-In Visit is the same so, I will meet with you and your pet(s) in advance of the visit to learn what care you need provided and answer any questions you have. - I can drop-in at your Home, Vacation Rental, or Hotel room. - I will arrive on-time, alone, and won’t snoop through your things. - You will receive photos of your pet(s), a written Visit Activity and Wellness report of how your pet(s) are doing. - If we go on a walk, you will get a detailed digital map of the path we took. - I will provide whatever kind of care your pet(s) need, Including: Feeding, Watering, Walking, Playing Inside and/or Outside, Brushing, Giving Medications, Replacing Bedding, Emptying the Litter Box; Watering the House Plants, Bringing in Packages and Mail, or anything else needed while you are away. I am retired so I can provide day and night time coverage. Let me know what kind of care you are looking for and lets develop a care plan that fits your needs. Throughout the day you will receive photos of your pets and written Visit Activity and Wellness reports. If we go for a walk, you will get a digital map of the route that we took. If you invite me to stay in your home, vacation rental, or hotel room, you can trust that I will arrive on-time and will stick to the schedule we establish. I always work alone and will focus on the care of your pet. I won’t be hosting wild parties or snooping through your things while you are gone - it will just be me, minding my own business while caring for your pets. Availability

I am retired so I have a very flexible schedule! PLEASE NOTE: Sometimes my schedule shows I am not available for a specific day only because I have a conflict for part of that day. Tuesdays are a good example of this. You can always reach out to me to see if my schedule has flexibility to serve your pet care needs. I can provide constant, uninterrupted care for pets that need a constant companion because of a health concern or extreme anxiety. Otherwise, the only time I would leave a pet on its own would be to run an errand and the pet parent would always know about these in advance.
