Pet care experience
Hello! My name is Marissa. I’ve owned and fostered pets my whole life. In 2016, I started pet sitting and dog walking on Rover. Over the past 8 years, I’ve cared for pets of all ages, sizes, and personalities. I take great care in making sure my pet clients are comfortable, happy, and well-loved. • Drop-in visits: During drop-ins, I stop by and take care of anything your pet may need. This can include a combination of things like feeding, playtime, cuddling, giving medication, scooping litter boxes, or spending time in the yard. • Dog walking: I used to be a full-time dog walker, so I understand that dogs have different needs and quirks on walks. If your dog is walking primarily for exercise, I will make sure that we maintain a good pace. I'm happy to reinforce training or stick to any routines that your dog may have. In my pack, I bring extra poop bags, water, and a collapsible bowl. Upon leaving the house, I make sure water bowls are full and the door is locked. • House sitting: During a typical house sitting stay, I spend most of my time with the pets and leave occasionally. When I do leave, I always make sure it’s within the duration we discuss. I don’t typically leave pets for more than 4 hours at a time, unless it’s part of their usual routine. I love taking dogs on walks and making sure they get plenty of time outside, if that’s something they enjoy. I follow instructions carefully and keep homes tidy. I'm happy to do anything you might need done around the house, like collect the mail, water the plants, or take out the trash. I typically send between 1-3 updates with multiple photos per day, but it’s completely up to your preferences. I keep my phone on me at all times, so you can always text or call to check in. • Pets that aren’t dogs and cats: I happily watch pets of any kind, and even do plant care visits. Just request me for a drop-in and we can talk about the details.
Reviews
I have used Rover in a number of states for 7 months, and Marissa is beyond doubt the best of all the walkers I have had! She truly loves the dogs and helped with a creative solution to one of my dogs issues! My dog loves her and would wait for her arrival. I can not recommend her enough! Book with her and you will be happy you did!
Marissa did an amazing job house sitting with our two pups for a long weekend. She sent lots of pictures and texted us throughout her stay. The house was immaculate when we came home. She even washed her sheets and towels.
Marissa is the best cat sitter. My cat absolutely loves her and I felt so secure knowing he was in great hands while away :)
Best cat sitter EVER! My cats love this lady! ❤️❤️❤️

Safety, trust & environment
Above all else, the safety of pets is my highest priority. When I am house sitting, I always make sure that potentially harmful items are out of reach and doors are locked. On walks, I keep leashes secure around my wrist. I am constantly on the lookout for bufo toads, chicken bones, aggressive dogs, cars, or anything else that could harm a pet. An accident or emergency vet visit is my worst nightmare—thankfully, nothing like that has ever happened.
Information Marissa T. would like to know about your pet
I would love to know your pet’s typical food, exercise, and sleeping routine; favorite activities; and any special needs or behavioral concerns that they may have.
A typical day
I love making pets happy, and I know that every pet has a different idea of their perfect day. Whether it’s playing with toys, going on an adventure, or snuggling on the couch—my favorite activities to do with pets are the ones that they enjoy most.

I am currently in nursing school. I have a 10-hour hospital day every Wednesday from 7am-5pm. My other classes are all online. I have a very flexible schedule for drop-ins and walks, and spend most of my downtime working on my laptop.
