Pet care experience
I have owned dogs since the day I was born. I have independently studied dog breeds, temperaments, and body language. I am also a professional dog trainer using various methods, and have taken a course in dog first aid and CPR. Every dog in my care is treated as if they are my dog. My entire life has been centered around learning as much about dogs and dog training as I could, whether it be through work or independently researched. I work as a professional dog trainer now, and have much experience handling dogs with nuisance behavioral issues and also dogs with severe anxiety or aggression issues. I work from home, so your fur baby will never be left alone for more than 2-3 hours.
Reviews
Marissa has cared for our dogs when we've gone out of town for long weekends, and she cares for them like they are her own. She has had dogs since she was born and has a special way of bonding with all dogs in a very short time. You can rest assured your fur babies will be well cared for her when they are placed in Marissa's hands.

Yes - if the dog has any aggression issues towards people or dogs.
A typical day
I lived near two parks, I usually walk my dogs through my neighborhood to the park, or I take them to my parents 10 acre farm to play if you allow it. If going to a dog friendly store they come along with me. Or I simply ask, "What is your dog's favorite thing to do?" And I do that. I will require your dog to meet both of my dogs before taking your dog into my home. I prefer this meeting to be on neutral ground, such as a park or recreational area of some sort. I have studied dog body language so I do know when a dog Is stressed or showing any signs of potential aggression. If this does happen, which I do not believe it will because my dogs have been around other dogs their entire lives, I will let you decide if you would like to continue booking my services, or not. I have dealt with dogs that do not get along, and in that case they are just kept separate 100% of the time. I do have a fenced in yard, however I know not all dogs remain in the yard regardless of the fence, therefore I will only take dogs in boarding out on leashes. I live in town so they would always go for a walk in the morning when they wake up, in the afternoon, or I will simply just walk them around my front yard which is very large. Also, I never trust any dogs eating together, even if I am told they are not food aggressive, all dogs can act different in a new environment. All dogs in my care will receive their food separately in their crates, or in their kennels. I also know that dogs can display a lot of anxiety in new environments. They can have trouble eating, they can have accidents, and they can bark, whine, or howl excessively. This does not bother me, since I have two dogs in training at all times I am used to it. However my dogs in boarding with anxiety behaviors, get a little bit of extra TLC. I take them out more frequently, I give them treats more frequently, and I use my pheromone plug in near their crate, or I have an essential oil diffuser that I place in the room and I put in a calming lavender scent. I also will play music for all dogs when I am not present. All owners must also present current vet records before boarding.
