Professional Petcare Extraordinaire
Pet care experience
Hi there! I'm a happy 33-year-old who has been providing top notch professional pet care since 2009, when I started my business! My flexible schedule allows me to take care of a variety of pets. Animals are my passion and my life force :) Being a highly attuned empath, I am intuitive to their needs & have a calm and assertive energy that animals respond very well to. I've cared for over 52 different breeds and mixes. I am equal parts dog lover and cat lover, which seems rare to find! I seriously love them BOTH! I have experience with other small animals such a rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, hamsters, frogs, turtles, snakes, fish, bearded dragons, even farm experience with chickens, goats, and horses. l have built a base of loyal customers almost solely through word of mouth - I think that says a lot! I even have a team of petsitting helpers who I can recommend if I am unavailable :) Everything from Chihuahuas & Dachshunds, to Pit Bulls & Great Danes. My pet care is always personalized to the individual needs of each animal. Specialized care experience with elderly, deaf/blind, and other health concerns that arise with animals. With ease, I can administer medications, soothe separation anxiety, provide exercise, and have even been known to teach your dog a trick or two while you're away! FUN FACT: I helped foster a cat for over one year while the owners were away in Japan. I enjoy bringing creativity to my pet sitting experiences by making a point to photograph the animals I take care of. It's rewarding when I'm able to convey the animal's true spirit/personality in a single photo. So expect text/e-mail updates & pictures on how your fur child is doing while you're away! If you'd like, I am able to provide contact info of my previous customers, or you can simply read the positive reviews I've received from my happy clients [click the REVIEWS tab above]. About this sitter: ma•ris•sa [muh-ris-suh] noun 1. one who passionately cares for animals. [ex. "Marissa took such great care of my fur child!"] [origin: WA] I understand the need for finding quality pet care for your animal. I also understand the anxiety in finding the perfect pet care provider. Just like you, your pet deserves a stress-free experience while you're away. When client's book my services, they can expect peace of mind knowing their pet is being cared for by an experienced and responsible animal lover. Here are some reasons why clients choose me: • Accommodating to your specific needs and flexible in terms of scheduling. • Great communication - provide regular updates/photos while you're away and am reachable by phone/text/e-mail. • I truly care about your pet's well-being, and I'm 110% committed to making your furbaby happy. • Trust - the foundation of any relationship. Between myself and the animals I care for, but more importantly trust between you (the owner) and I. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks Marissa for the great care for Hermes and Alex! We will surely be in touch for future stays.
Marissa is great - Very flexible and responsive!
She’s Amazing!
Our one year old pitbull Dahlia is like a baby to us, and there's no one else we would trust more than Marissa to watch her while we are gone! The amount of love and care that Marissa gives to our furbaby is like that of her own. She genuinely cares about the well being of our girl, and it shows, because Dahlia clearly loves her like family. I also appreciate the photo updates she sends us, it shows she's spending time with Dahlia, taking her on long walks and sending videos of their fetch sessions. We never worry know that our baby is in the best care with Marissa!

I treat your home and pets as if they were my own, with the utmost conscientious care and respect. I stay in contact with regular updates and can help out with other home duties as needed, such as gardening, trash/recycle, mail & package retrieval...I have even helped families by doing a grocery trip before you get home so you can relax into being back home without having to run out to the store for eggs and milk, etc! *additional fees for add-on services
Information Marissa R. would like to know about your pet
I love and welcome ALL breeds! I especially enjoy taking care of new breeds and learning more about them. Before booking, I require a meet & greet with the dog(s) and owner(s). This insures it's a good fit for both parties and gives everyone an opportunity to address any concerns, share stories, and gather necessary information. My meet & greets are very casual, and the questions I ask are pretty simple and straightforward. I feel the best way to understand your dog is to experience them in person (or in-dog?). The meet & greets are not only a way to share information with the owner(s), but they also allow your dog(s) to become familiar with me, and decide if I live up to their expectations! :)
A typical day
It's important to listen to the owner's opinions and requests in terms of what's best for the dog. For instance, some dogs do very well walking next to busy streets, and others like to chase cars. Some dogs thrive at off leash dog parks, and others don't do well will in social situations. I can easily cater and adjust to the specific needs of each breed and animal. I feel it's necessary for your dog to spend time outdoors to stimulate their senses and burn off energy. I enjoy staying active and love when I can include your fur child in all the fun! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Your dog's sleeping arrangement I like to stick to your pup's routine as much as possible. Some typical scenarios are sleeping in the same room the dogs are used to, or moving their dog bed to the guest room, or sometimes they sleep with me in the bed, if permitted! I really don't mind either way, as long as we all get a good nights sleep! We don't want a grumpy pup ;) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Time I'll spend with your dog Honestly, as much time as we possibly can! With most of the team being part to full time petsitters, we can ensure your fur children won't feel lonely. Needless to say, your pup(s) will be spoiled with love & attention. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Extra house-sitting services? Most definitely! List of additional services include bringing in mail, watering plants, mowing lawn & yard work, recording TV shows, letting in/coordinating with service providers, light housekeeping, organizing, grocery shopping to stock up for your return, and meal prep & cooking. If you have something in mind that is not listed, please ask us! Some of these services are provided to you at an additional rate. Please inquire.

I am blessed to currently work from home as a writing consultant while working on my Molecular Biosciences degree. I have a flexible schedule and thrive on staying busy. My excellent time management skills are definitely an asset in allowing me time in my schedule to care for your pets! It also means I can work remotely and hang out with your pets to provide them a more "normal routine" experience of having a person around, which is very calming for animals.
