Pet care experience

I have taken care of neighbors and family friends pets (dogs, cats, rabbits) since I was 11, along with having dog and cats of my own growing up. This is the first time I have not been able to bring my pet to school, so I would love the opportunity to take care of and love on your pets like they are my own. Additionally, I am currently working on my masters in Animal Science and have livestock experience (pigs, cattle, horses, sheep and goats)

Marissa is a bubbly, loving and easy going spirit to be around. My dog doesn’t take to new people quick, but once he got some treats and scratches from her he LOVED her! I admire Marissa’s love and compassion for pets. No hesitations when it comes to trusting her around my animals!

Safety, trust & environment

I will make sure to assess every situation/environment and take the upmost safe route to ensure your fur baby is comfortable at all times. My first priority is to gain and/or continue their trust in me by reading social cues to give them the proper love and attention. I have experience ranging in different breeds, ages, and anxiety levels in dogs. I look forward to caring for your fur baby in the near future!

Information Marissa L. would like to know about your pet

Let me know ahead of time if your dog(s) has any special care instructions or behavioral quirks. I want to be able to be as prepared as possible before caring for your pup!

A typical day

My favorite thing to do is explore Brookings and I would love to take your dog along with me for the adventure. This would allow them the opportunity to burn some energy and smell lots of new smells.
