Professional dog trainer/handler

Pet care experience

First and foremost, I LOVE dogs. I have experience working with dogs of all breeds and sizes in many different professional settings. Growing up I always had dogs in the family and caring for them has become a passion of mine over the years. I am familiar with how much time and effort is required to properly care for dogs of all ages, and I am committed to providing the same quality of care that I would want for my own dogs. I currently work as a positive reinforcement dog trainer in Norwell and am looking to do some dog walking/sitting in my spare time. In the past, I’ve worked at vet clinics as a kennel technician/veterinary technician and have both medical and behavioral experience with dogs. Working in doggy daycares and doing pack walks has given me tons of experience working with large groups of dogs as well. I have been walking dogs and pet sitting on my own, and have also worked for multiple dog walking/pet sitting companies over the years. Transportation will never be an issue as I have my own car, and I can be flexible on timing. Please feel free to reach out with any further questions you may have! I am available every day and can be reached by email, call or text.

From start to finish, Marissa was amazing. She reached out ahead of time to see if there were any special issues -- behavioral or dietary. She wanted to make sure our dog could enjoy the treats she had. She had a great walk planned for her, not just walking around the block. And, when we needed her to keep the dog longer, Marissa was very accommodating. We needed her to watch our dog for a few hours while we visited from out of town. Wish we could use her more often. But, we only visit this area once a year. We highly recommend Marissa.

Marissa did a fantastic job caring for my dog and cats while I was away. My dog gets separation anxiety when I’m away, but Marissa kept her calm and happy! It was reassuring to receive daily updates and pictures from Marissa to see how everyone was doing. I will definitely be booking her services in the future!

Me and my dogs love Marissa! She is trustworthy, reliable (very responsive to emails/texts, follows instructions), but most importantly my pups love her! Its nice and reassuring to have a great dog sitter so we can take small trips without worrying about our house or dogs’ well being. Thanks Marissa!

Marissa was great! She treated our dogs like her own and they love her! She’s very flexible, helpful and accommodating. One of our dogs takes daily medication and she was able to administer the meds with no problems. I felt comfortable being away and knowing my dogs were in her care.

Information Marissa D. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know if your pet has any dietary restrictions or medical issues that I should be aware of. I am happy to work with dogs that have behavioral issues, but I believe it’s important to have some background on these issues beforehand!

A typical day

I provide 30-minute (can be longer depending on client needs) "adventure walks" which include visits to local parks, off-leash play time, walks around the neighborhood, and socialization. I am always willing to accommodate any specific needs such as solo walks or avoiding parks with other dogs. My goal is to provide relief, exercise, and socialization during the 30 minute walk, and anything else your dog may need. I can also provide additional care such as feeding and giving medications.
