I was nervous to leave my cat by herself for the first time while I went on vacation but she was in great hands with Marissa! Marissa was friendly and awesome with quick communication. Plus I loved all the cute pictures she took during her home visits! I definitely hope to have Marissa take care of Tuna again in the future.

Let's hit the trail!

To ensure that your dog gets my full attention, I only board one dog (or multiple dogs from the same household) at a time. I'll spoil your dog with treats, belly rubs and long walks! My family loves to go hiking in the various East Bay Regional Parks. Tofu prefers to go off-leash, but we can keep your "Buddy" on leash if you'd prefer. If your dog is high-energy, loves to ...

What Marissa would like to know about your dog

My dog Tofu is very playful and energetic. He loves to play with toys and other dogs inside our home. If your dog is sensitive to sharing toys (possessive behavior) and does not like social dogs, we may not be your perfect fit. As much as I love silver-haired pups, we can not host senior dogs with physical limitations.

In order to hit the trail, your dog must have generally good car-related skills (no barking or trying to get into the driver's seat). If you do not want your dog to go in the car, please let me know! I'd be happy to keep it to "neighborhood walks only".

Your dog also must be comfortable with both men and women, as I live with my husband.
We do live on a busy street, so your dog must be used to the street sounds that comes with an urban dwelling.

Finally, sometimes dogs may get a little "homesick"when introduced to new surroundings and people. I would love to keep your dog's usual routine as much as possible. Please let me know if your dog has had any behavior issues when boarding in the past, such as excessive barking, aggression, lack of appetite, anxiety licking, shaking or shivering.

When Marissa watches your pet

As convenient as dog parks are, I care about your dog's safety more! Due to health and safety reasons, I will not bring your dog to a dog park. A single interaction gone wrong can lead to injury or life-long reactivity or fear aggression. Dogs have a natural sense of adventure and trail hiking is the perfect way to get out their energy. Walks, as opposed to dog park socialization, is the best walk to exercise! If you dog loves to spend time in the outdoors, we think we'd be a perfect match.
