Energetic Dog Lover

Pet care experience

I am a teacher who has a sweet 8 month old Hound Mix who loves all other dogs and people. I have ALWAYS been an animal lover! There aren’t many animals I would shy away from, but dogs were my first love. I have dog sat for friends and family through the years and have a good deal of experience with dogs of all sizes. As a teacher, I will be available most days this summer and work to make sure your dog has quality care and lots of love just as I do for my students. I am happy to run, head to the dog park, hike or simply walk or sit depending on what your dog wants and needs. I can’t wait to spend time with your fur babies!

Percy had a wonderful time at Marilyn's house. He enjoyed having her dog as a play pal for the day, and I enjoyed having a tired dog when I picked him up that evening.

Lola has a great time. Marilyn was very responsive and gave us plenty of updates on Lola. I would recommend using Marilyn and would use her again to watch my dog.

We are very disappointed with our experience with Marilyn. We signed up with Marilyn to watch our dog during our wedding weekend and 10-day honeymoon. We had a great meet and great, and we all seemed to be on the same page. Marilyn even brought our dog to our wedding briefly so that we could take pictures with him which was great. However, the morning we were to leave for our honeymoon, we received a message from Marilyn explaining that our dog was having trouble at night--barking when left downstairs in and out of his crate--and asked what to do. We asked her to explain what was going on so that we could give suggestions, but when she responded, she simply asked to re-home home him--which was 40 minutes before we were about to board an 8 hour flight. We weren't aware this had been happening, and I suppose she didn't want to tell us on our wedding night, but if we had known we would have been able to help. Our dog likes to sleep with his pack (people). If she had told us sooner, we could have told her just to move his bed to her room or the hallway outside and he would have been fine. By the time we knew there was an issue, she had already bailed. What also concerns us is that she mentioned that initially had tried crating him at night, which we specifically told her & her husband not to do. My wife and I have watched a number of our friends' dogs who have also cried or barked when we left them downstairs or out of our room--it's not an unusual reaction for dogs to have and I frankly don't understand why she couldn't just move his bed upstairs, or ask us about it before bailing. We don't have family in the area and were about to board an 8 hour flight, not to mention during a holiday weekend when all other boarding groups are booked, so we were left scrambling on what to do with our dog. I understand that it's frustrating to have a barking dog when you're trying to sleep, but it's honestly something that could have been easily resolved, had we known. Also, if you sign up to watch/board dogs, you should be prepared for things like this--it's part of the job. Extremely unprofessional.

Marilyn and her husband took INCREDIBLE care of Roe!!! I was given tons of updates with pictures and Roe loved their dog, who was adorable! They kept her busy, exercised, happy, well fed, and overall loved! Not only are they super awesome people but they are awesome dog sitters, I HIGHLY recommend them!
