Pet care experience
Hello there! I am a dog lover with 13 years of experience raising a dog of my own. He was a high energy, highly intelligent bird dog who I taught agility to and ran with daily, so I have lots of experience with training and behavior! I currently have a 2 year old border collie who is deaf and highly trained by me, he is an excellent playmate with good manners. I will be able to offer references if needed! I’m very active myself, and can go long distances or fast paces (yep, that includes running) to make sure your pet is happy and tuckered out!

Many thanks!! Mariele stopped by our house to take care of our cat while we left town and she brought in packages, swept, and cleaned up in general after our cat. She is very trustworthy and its nice to know our pet was in good hands!
Wonderful care for our dog! Didn’t have to worry about him while we were away because Mariele kept us updated.
Mariele did great with our dog in her first boarding experience. We met before hand to let our dogs meet and she reassured us about everything our dog and we may have concerns about. She is very sweet and knowledgeable and was her dog too! She was very accommodating to our schedule and sent lots of pictures and updates! Would book again:)
This was the longest I’ve been apart from my 6 month old pup and Mariele did an awesome job providing updates and putting my mind at ease! Highly recommend!

I have a 2 story home with a fenced in, dog friendly backyard to accommodate my own special pup. He will be around and is very friendly and well mannered when it comes to play. There is an excellent trail system around my house and I am an experienced dog walker (I've raised two dogs with high energy and high prey drive) and room in the backyard for free play etc.

I really appreciate learning about how you work with your dog and the rules you have for them. In training and behavior I know that consistency is KEY, so I will want to match you as much as possible. I will also want to know if your dog has any reactivity or fear around any objects or people etc, that way I can try to prevent or mitigate any encounters that might be frightening for your pet.
A typical day
As someone with a busy deaf dog, I have lots of experience in finding creative ways to keep dogs active and entertained. I love to go on walks and utilize the beautiful and safe trail system near my home. I also have a backyard for games like fetch and free play. I play lots of sniff search games with my own dog and have food puzzles to keep his mind active.

Availability
I am very flexible with time and will be able to accommodate unusual hours. I am able to work from home very easily (grad student life!) My dog and I already have a pretty active routine, but I am also able to stay home and keep watch if your dog is not as active.
