1:1 care for your best friend
Pet care experience
Hi, there! We provide a warm and welcoming home-away-from-home for your pet. For our boarders, we make a point to give each dog that stays with us individual atention and care. We only take one dog at a time (exceptions are made for pets in the same family) to ensure every stay is as comfortable, home-like, and positive as possible! We have taken care of cats and dogs throughout a good part of the last 12 years. We live in a home with a fully fenced backyard with secured gates, cameras, turf potty area, automated pool cover (dogs are allowed in the pool, and it has gentle steps for senior dogs), plenty of toys, shade and sun loungers for the sun bathers. We also try to keep as close to the routine as your dog is used to. Walks, couch snuggles, fetch and play time are always included to your preference and your dog's needs. We require a meet and greet before dropoff to make sure doggies and owners are happy and getting along. For insurance reasons, we cannot host bully breeds or huskies. Dogs must be 🐾 Up to date on all vaccinations and flea medications 🐾 Microchipped and/or wearing a collar with ID 🐾 Potty trained to some degree (accidents happen, we know). Exceptions are made for puppies, of course. 🐾 Non-aggressive and not dog-reactive (we have a dog, and want to make sure everyone is safe) Other nice things: - If your dog doesn't get along with cats, that won't be an issue at all as long as they are not cat chasers. Our cats have their own little nooks and a safe room to retreat to. - We train and handle all our animals with fear-free and positive reinforcement only, please feel free to ask any questions.
Reviews
This was my second time booking with Marianne and Doug and my dog absolutely loved it! They take such good care of him, always sharing updates with us while we are gone to ensure peace of mind. They are both so sweet and friendly and my boy always has a blast playing with their pup. I would definitely recommend!!
Thank you so much to Marianne and Doug for taking such good care of my baby boy, Bruce. He was so well taken care of, had a blast playing with Vega, and came home so tired!! They didn’t even bat an eye when he had to wear a cone because of a hot spot on his head. This was my first time using Rover and leaving him for a few days and they updated me a few times a day to make me feel more at ease. I very much appreciated that and would highly recommend them. I would 100% use them to watch Bruce in the future. Thank you!!
This was my first time leaving my dog & using Rover. I was very impressed! Marianne & Doug were outstanding! My dog was SO happy with them They played & gave her lots of snuggle time. I got many reports, pictures & videos. I will definitely use Marianne & Doug again
Marianne and Doug kept Eliza for two separate visits, each ending the same...excellent. our dog needs to be around humans and as a treat, other dogs. Marianne works from home so there is always someone around to give our dog the extra needed attention she needs to keep her calm. Having their own dog Vega around is seriously a treat for Eliza. Doug helps balance the act in the evenings and weekends so its like having a backup family to care for her when we need to leave her. Marianne and Doug take the extra time to send updates and photos about her eating, napping, walking, playing, etc. Making sure we know she is in good hands. This takes the stress out for us and her as well. Thank you again Marianne and Doug. You're are now our go to dog sitter!

Information Marianne & Doug H. would like to know about your pet
We have cats and a puppy, so if your dog isn't used to cats, we can do a day try out. Our cats are very gentle and have their own rooms the can go to if they feel uncomfortable. ✨Help us get to know your puppy✨ - Any behaviors we need to know? These are not show-stoppers, but it helps us know ahead of time so that we can make your pet comfortable. Behaviors can include food guarding, darting out of the door, toy guarding or any other type of resource guarding, digging, chewing on non-allowed items, etc. - Potty training level (puppies are puppies, we get it! This is just so we know how to best craft a schedule for them) - Allergies - Treats that are ok to have (e.g. store-bought, cheese, dog-safe fuits and veggies) - Known commands - great to know if they have emergency recall, know their name, sit, down, come, etc. - Do's and don'ts (some folks do not want their pets encouraged in furniture, so we get it!)
A typical day
We start the day early with fetch and tug in the backyard and a walk before 8am. On warm summer days, pool time is also an option, and we spend time in the air conditioned indoors as much as possible to keep cool, and plenty of couch time for cuddles and to watch TV in the evening.

Availability
We work from home full-time, with occasional office visits. Our home is secure and there will always be at least one adult with the dogs. Another reason why we limit our intake to one dog.
