At 10 years old, I participated in the Milwaukee Humane Society program PAL. Within the program, fellow students and I learned to train dogs, interact with cats, and clean duck habitats. My doggy, Shirley, loved going on walks and eating hot dog chunks. The program inspired my desire to work with animals as a career and wanting a bunny. I did intense 10 year old research about care giving for bunnies. Within 3 years we did end up getting a bunny, but very enthusiastic KJ. This shih szu was nothing like a bunny so I had to go back to what I learned in PAL and conduct more research. I trained my little love to sit all by myself at 13.
