**I'm back! I set my Rover account to "Away" while I was moving. My son and I now live in Waterford, MI from Allen Park, MI. The reviews I have are from some wonderful pet owners Downriver. Now I'm starting fresh in a new home and I'm ready to petsit again! For all of my downriver customers, if you ever need me to watch your pets i'd be happy to meet you. I know Waterford is a hike. Thanks you guys. Now allow me to introduce myself to all of you wonderful Waterford (and surrounding areas) pet families!!! ** Hello! My name is Mariah. I'm a 26 year old stay at home mom. Let me tell you a little bit about myself - To put it simply, animals are my passion. I grew up in a home where animals are not just pets - they're family. Since I can remember I have lived with and cared for animals of all species, sizes, ages, ailments, temperaments, and personalities. I've had just about any animal from dogs to freshwater shrimp. That's right.. shrimp! My love for animals goes beyond four paws and fur! I grew up in Troy, MI. In my teens I spent a lot of time volunteering for the foster program at the Michigan Humane Society. At 18 I became the manager of a local pet store and worked there for 5 years before I moved Downriver to try a different path. Unfortunately, things didn't work out so I'm back in Waterford to further my education. I watched a lot of pets in my Allen Park home and it was a great experience! Because of this, my son has grown up with a variety of animals to play with. He understands completely that they aren't toys and he's incredibly gentle. He will love your pet and I bet they'll love him too. :-) My typical day consists of taking care of my 2.5 year old son and my home along with studying. I'm usually home but if I'm not, it isn't for more than a couple hours. Here are a few reasons why I think I'm an excellent sitter - 1) You will never have to worry about your fur baby being left alone for more than a couple of hours if I have an errand. Besides that I'm always home. 2) Since our yard is unfenced I take all guests out by their leash and/or harness. You don't have to worry about them being left unattended or left outside in the cold or heat for too long. 3) I can take up to 2 animals at a time but if your pet is a loner, just let me know. I'll happily set my booking calendar to unavailable during their stay. I believe that people who love their animals are the best kind of people and I would love to help you in any way I can. I can provide a fun, clean, loving, calm and relaxing place for you to bring your pet. Kennels are often unsanitary and overcrowded with staff unable to give each animal individual attention or proper care. Forget that! I can be your pet's home away from home!

Unfortunately I did not have a good experience with Mariah, she watched my dog for 2 days 10/11-10/12/18. The first day drop off went fine but later in the evening I was informed that I would have to pick her up at a different location which didn't bother me as much as not being asked or told that she would be driving with my dog and taking her to a location I had not seen. When I picked her up her sleeping blanket had been forgotten at the drop off location, and a favorite toy was missing from her bag which was retrieved. Since I was dropping her off again in the morning I left the blanket til then. The next day at the drop off time I couldn't get ahold of Mariah, I spent several minutes outside her house calling her phone and knocking on the door before she got up to collect my dog. At the end of my shift I texted her to let her know the exact pick up time and received no answer, upon arrival the house was dark and after knocking on the door I could hear my dog barking. A house-mate let me in and informed me that Mariah was sleeping, I asked questions about her dinner and he didnt know because he had just gotten home from work. Which was concerning because I have no idea how long she was roaming the house unsupervised. I retrieved her blanket and bag of toys which I double checked before leaving and found a pack of cigarettes inside of her bag. Everything, including the dog smelled of smoke, despite being advertised as a non smoking household. Needless to say I was very disappointed.
Excellent stay with a little puppy. She took very good care of him and understood that because he is still a puppy he had troubles with potty time at new places.
Mariah was very easy to work with and too great care of my two dogs while we took an overnight trip out of town. She kept them at her home and both dogs seemed very happy and comfortable with her. She sent me photos and text updates while she kept them as well as communicated with me before/after the stay. I will definitely use her services again!
Mariah was great. I needed something last minute, without very much notice and she was very accomadating. She noticed his eye drops in his bag that I totally forgot to mention and reached out to see if he needed them and then made sure he received them. She sent multiple photos of his stay that made us feel better about being away. Great experience all around. Thank you!!!

Since I have an unfenced yard and a smaller home, high energy dogs over 35 lbs aren't a good fit. Your fur baby must be potty trained.
A typical day
There's a nature center a stone's throw behind me with trails. If your dog likes long walks, that's the ticket! If your fur baby prefers a shorter walk, or you don't want me to drive with them, then we can just stay in my neighborhood. We can walk, play, or lounge around the house. I hope they are prepared for a lot of fun and affection!
