I have cared for critters since childhood. I have volunteered at a wildlife rescue. I have worked on a goat farm. I have worked at horse stables. I have had dogs, cats, birds, iguanas, a snake, a horse, rabbits, mice, hamsters, and more. I enjoy walking them, grooming them, talking with them, and simply being around them. I spend time reading to, playing guitar for, and singing to the critters. I am familiar with and comfortable with administering prescribed medications. I have adopted many critters in my lifetime, some of which have been undernourished rescue pets, and I continue spending the necessary time patiently bringing them back to proper health and well being. I am primarily at home throughout the day with the critters, and I am therefore often available at short notice to accommodate last minute plans. I believe in kindness as my guide.

Maria is amazing! Such a warm, caring person, she took great care of our Chihuahua/Terrier mix for the five nights we were gone. Maria took the time to meet us before hand at a park for "neutral ground" initial meeting with our dog. Then we went to her home and she shared with us her routine, and where our dog would be and showed us how Rosie would have access to potty 24/7. Maria slowly introduced each of her 3 sweet dogs to ours and made us feel completely at ease. We received wonderful updates throughout our trip and got to see how much fun our girl was having. Lastly, and what perhaps stuck out the most for us, was how calm and content our dog was when we picked her up, and for the rest of the day. Picking her up from other places and Rover sitters, our dog has been very clingy, vocal, and generally anxious, but from Maria, she just seemed so calm. I think she felt so completely loved and safe with her that there was no trauma or anxiety of us being away. We will definitely use Maria again!
Maria is one of the most principled and caring people that I know. She has always had an innate, powerful, and gentle affection for animals. She is earnest in her desire to help and be of service, as well as exceedingly conscious of safety. She strives to create a peaceful and loving atmosphere. I would completely trust her to give any pet in her care the best of her capable and devoted attention.
