Life is better with a dog!
Pet care experience
My entire life I have cared for animals (pigs, horses, leopard geckos, goats, cats, dogs, hedgehogs), but dogs win the trophy for the longest relationship! Ever since I can remember I have dog sat for friends and family. In each of these situations, I gained experience in providing medication (e.g. eye drops), vitamin supplements, and personalized feeding needs. These necessities were always combined (according to owner's preference) with regular dog exercise, socialization, and attention. It is rare that I am ever without a dog nearby. Whether it is a street fair or grabbing a snack at a dog friendly restaurant, our pups (and hopefully yours!) are always by our side. In this house, dogs are a priority and are given a lot of freedom. Our home even has a doggy door for pups to explore (this can be closed if owners prefer), sun bathe, and smell the roses in our fenced in backyard. Regular walks, visits to the local park, and cuddles on the couch all come with the territory. As an Assistant Professor of Education, my boarding schedule tends to align with the academic calendar. If the calendar says I'm available then I'm working from home on those days, so if your pup(s) stays with us they will rarely be left alone.

Our 2 poms were so loved and cared for! Maria spoiled them. We received frequent pictures and video clips of our fur babies. They were healthy and happy after their stay, which was a great relief and sure sign of the excellent care. We’ll definitely use Maria again!
We were so relieved as well as thrilled that our little fur baby was so well taken care of. This was his home away from home. Marie took care of Rudy like it was her own fur baby. She kept us updated with photos and pictures so we knew his progress often through out the day. We definitely would recommend Maria to others and intend to hire her services again in the future!
Our dog Lady had a wonderful stay with Maria. She is very caring and attentive. I received pictures and videos every day. It was obvious Lady was very comfortable and well-cared for. She also has 2 sweet dogs that Lady enjoyed playing with. Thank you, Maria, for taking such good care of Lady!
Maria took care of our dog, Lexi, for 2 weeks. She and her husband were wonderful. They live in a nice, quiet neighborhood with sidewalks. Their home is very neat and clean, but dog friendly. They have a large fenced in backyard. Even from our first meeting I knew that Lexi would be safe and happy under Maria's care. They have two small dogs that get along well with other dogs and people. Maria and her husband went over and beyond to help Lexi feel comfortable at their home. Maria sent pictures and videos of Lexi daily. They took her to the dog park, car rides, long walks every evening and to get a bath before I picked her up. I would not hesitate to leave Lexi with Maria again.

Information Maria W. would like to know about your pet
In order to ensure a positive Rover.com experience we would like to know more about the following: -What does a typical day look like for your dog? (crated, indoor/outdoor preferences, favorite activities, regular exercise) -What special needs or accommodations does your dog have? (medication, friendly with other dogs, fears, anxiety, destructive behaviors, food aggression) -Is your dog an escape artist? Do they tend to dig holes or bolt out the door? Our pups love play dates, so if you would like to schedule a meet-and-greet before your booking date feel free to let us know. Also, in order to make sure we can provide the best care for your fur-baby, please provide your preferred vet information and an overview of your dogs' needs before your stay. Since our pups, Siti and Klaus, are only 16lbs it is best if your dog is on the smaller size of the "medium range". Depending on your pup's demeanor and their needs, we can address the size "fit" on a customer-by-customer basis.
A typical day
Walks and fun activities are the norm in this dog-centered home. Depending on the season and your dog's needs, the activities vary from walks to the neighborhood snowball stand, swimming in the Gulf Coast waters, exploring local park trails, visits to dog friendly restaurants, visits to the fully fenced in neighborhood park, and snuggles on couch. In each activity we strive to bring joy to the dogs and others friends we encounter along the way. Even though you may have to leave your fur-baby(ies) for bit, you'll be sure to get regular photos and videos that put your mind at ease while you are away. We also recently purchased a 'Petzi Treat Camera' which allows us to check in on any furbabies if we are away from the house. The Petzi camera provides a live video feed, ability to take photographs, and even shoot treats out all the fur babies.
