Dog Lover and Sitter Available

Pet care experience

*Please ask me about my school schedule and availability for times that work best for drop-ins. 2 a day visits or walks max prefered with classes. Thank you!* Hi there! I have grown up with dogs my whole life and currently have two older dogs in my household, 15 and 11, I care for. Growing up, I have also taken care of neighbors' pets including cats; feeding, walking, taking them out for potty breaks, or cleaning the litter box. I am an EMT and am experienced with dogs that may have extra medical needs. For example, my one dog is diabetic and I giver her insulin injections twice a day after meals. My phone is always with me so I can be reached easily if there are any questions, concerns, or if you'd like daily picture updates on your pet. I am available for meet and greets as well if you are interested in my services. Hope to hear from you soon!

Maria is an excellent and professional dog walker. We appreciate her flexibility, prompt and clear communication, and her overall attentiveness to our dog. We could not be more pleased with her work and would happily recommend her services to our family and friends.

Maria is the best! She and Dylan instantly bonded. She took great care of him on the drop-in visit, and we're looking forward to more visits next week. I can relax knowing my little buddy is well cared for.

Maria was excellent. She came on short notice because first dog sitter couldn’t make it at the last minute. She went beyond for us as we had chickens to also care for. She came on time when we asked her to and kept us to date with photos of our dogs while we were away so yes this is the person you want to walk your dogs.

Safety, trust & environment

My dogs are older and don't require alot of play. However, I like to take them out regularly for potty breaks and short walks up my driveway for softer exercise. Where I live is a little quieter and my dogs are free to roam in our backyard. If your home has a fenced in yard, I am great at supervising and keeping your pet company. If your yard is open or your dog prefers strolls around the neighborhood, I am also good with taking your pet on a leash and cleaning up after them. Younger pups, I am eager to play with to burn off some energy and take them on frequent walks.

Information Maria O. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know any dietary or medical needs your pet may have. Include what is considered normal behavior for your pet if any underlying condition(s) either medically or if your dog has a rescue history that has affected them. Please also make sure to list any emergency contacts along with your veterinary information so your pet can receive the appropriate care in a timely fashion should such an event occur. I'd also like to know how your pet interacts with other people, children, or other animals. In cases of thunderstorms or holiday celebrations, how is your pet with loud noises or overwhelming environments? Any other information you'd like to share to ensure the best quality of care, do not hesitate to let me know.

A typical day

Younger dogs that require more physical activity I will take on walks around the yard or neighborhood as owners see fit. If they have toys or other forms of play preference, I enjoy giving them the attention they seek from a companion. Older dogs I handle with appropriate care, guiding or assisting them as needed and making sure to stick with any dietary necessities. If they require insulin injections or other forms of medication, I am experienced with diabetic dogs and am available to discuss any further care necessities.

I feed my dogs twice a day in the early morning and evening and give my senior dog insulin injections with her meals. I also regularly take them out for walks and potty breaks as needed. Between these times, I am either doing chores around the home or off at the gym mid morning so my availability is very flexible during the day. I will be starting an accelerated nursing program this Fall 2022 at night most days with some classes starting mid afternoon. However, I am willing to discuss a time that works for both parties and allows your pet the best care possible.
