Hi there! My name is Maria and I moved to San Jose from Chicago with my mom Nubia and dog Coco about 6 years ago. We started dog sitting through Rover when we moved here in 2014 and though our Coco is now in heaven, we still continue to have furry friends over to keep his spirit alive. We are avid dog lovers and adore spending time with all kinds of dogs. We love to dog sit because we know how hard it is to travel when you're worrying about who will take good care of your best friend. We want our home to be your dog's home away from home, and we want to be able to relieve any stress and anxiety your pet may have when he/she is away from you because that's how we wanted someone to be with our Coco. About this sitter: My mom and I have been dog sitting and dog walking in San Jose, through Rover, for the past 6 years and we have loved every bit of it. We've established such great relationships with our clients, that our pups know us as Grandma Nubia and Auntie Maria. While I am at work during the day, my mom is home and her full-time job is our dog sitting/walking business. We recognize we are so fortunate living in California that we try to make the best of every day. This is easy to do when you compare the weather to Chicago (freezing half the year!) We take opportunities to take the pups on hikes all over the bay area, go to dog parks, festivals, beaches, etc, as long as you, the owner, feel comfortable with us doing so. Why I love dog sitting My mom and I have been avid dog lovers all of our lives. We were blessed to have Coco for 11 wonderful years. He, along with our furry friends, teach us every day what it means to love unconditionally, live every day with gusto, and they remind us to take the time to smell the flowers. You don't truly realize the joy they bring to your life until you're around them 24/7. While we no longer have Coco physically with us, he is always in our hearts and we keep his memory alive through our client's pups, many of whom shared wonderful moments with our Coco. About my yard We do not have a backyard but we take our pups on 3-4 walks a day depending on the client's preferences. There is a lot of ground to cover in our neighborhood. Depending on the day, weather, and of course the pup's physical condition, we go on hikes and trail runs. We also live near a dog park so we like to take them there to socialize or play fetch.
