Pet care experience
I grew up around dogs and have always loved animals. There is nothing like the love a dog gives you on a daily basis! My boyfriend and I have not yet been able to financially commit to a dog since moving to DC, so dog sitting would be a wonderful way for us to spend time with our favorite animal while also saving up some money for our own furry friend one day. We frequently dog sit for our friends and have bonded with all of their pets over the past few years. I will provide your dog with love, cuddles, exercise, trips to the dog park, play time and a comfortable, safe place to call home for a few days. I'm sure you want someone who is reliable so that your mind can be at ease while you are away from home - I can be that person for you! I am reliable, flexible and easy-going and I look forward to meeting you and your pet :) Please note that I am primarily available on the weekends, as I work downtown on weekdays. However, if you need a dog sitter longer than the weekend (say, Thurs-Mon), and your dog would be comfortable being left alone on that Friday or Monday while we are at work (9-5), that would be just fine. So long as your pup and you are comfortable!

Maria has watched our dog on several occasions. Sometimes she would swing by apartment to take care of him at our place, and other times Monty (our dog) would spend the weekend with her. Maria really enjoys spending time with Monty and is a great dog aunt! She is very responsive and attentive, Monty misses her when we have to bring him back home! Maria would be a great dog sitter and an asset to your team. If you need any additional information on her behalf, please do not hesitate to ask.
I'd wholeheartedly recommend Maria as a dogsitter. She frequently watches my hound mix, Monty. Monty is a sweet dog, but requires a lot of attention and care as he is a rescue with a fear of people and other dogs. Maria is attuned to Monty's needs, going out of her way to ensure that he is comfortable. She's also good for long walks and dog snuggles!
Maria is my former roommate and she lived with me when I first adopted my dog, Queenie. Maria helped me take care of Queenie, as well as my cat. She was great with both of them - she even helped me housebreak Queenie! Maria often took Queenie out for long walks around the neighborhood and would make special trips to the pet store to buy him treats and toys. Whenever I had to travel, she took excellent care of both of my pets, and she loved them like they were her own. Queenie was so sad when she moved out, and whenever she comes to visit he is the happiest dog you'll ever see. I would trust Maria 100% with either of my pets and don't hesitate to recommend her as a dog walker or sitter!

A typical day
I love to take dogs to the nearby dog park in Clarendon, which is a great way for them to socialize with other pups and get some exercise. Our neighborhood is also perfect for dog walks - the streets are quiet and safe, and there are walking trails close-by. We would also love to take your dog on hikes in Rock Creek Park or Great Falls when the weather is nice!
