Fun, energetic, caring, responsible

Pet care experience

Having had dogs all my life, when it came time for traveling or having to leave town unexpectedly, my biggest worry was where will my dogs stay? Who can I trust to love them and take care of them the way I do? Unfortunatelly all my past dogs are in puppy heaven now but my clients from Rover fill that void! My partner Eirik and I live together, both work from home and know that our dogs are our family. We'v been Rover sitters for about 7 years and when we were looking for a new place to live, one of our top priorities was that it was dog friendly. Needles to say Rover has introduced us to amazing people and of course, THE PUPS!! Eirik works in Finance and I work in Real Estate, we both love our jobs, but the highlight of our days is having the dogs around. We have special connections with our regular clients and feel so lucky to have them in our lives. On a regular weekday you can expect us up and about really early, working from home is great, and lunchtime means a break and walks. In the afternoon we like to hang out in the yard either doing yard work, reading or going for a jog. If you're pup is up for it they are always welcome as a companion. Weekends are much more exciting and we love to go to dog parks, restaurants or just lounge at home. We really want your pups to feel comfortable with us because we know the anxiety that can come when being away from home. That said, we strive to keep your dog well educated and not to spoil him/her too much :) To parents who have dogs that do not get along with other animals: We know that some pups might have had a hard past experience and simply need to be the only dogs around. If we know enough time in advance and have no prior bookings, we can accommodate this!

Maria & Eirik were amazing and I would recommend them to anyone looking for kind, responsible, animal loving people!! They watched my two huskies for two weeks, sent daily updates with photos and walks. I needed extensions and they worked with my schedule. Their home and yard was clean and perfect for dogs, they have a large fenced and safe yard. I felt at peace knowing my dogs were in great hands and so grateful I found them!

These are both of the individuals you want taking care of your pups! Maria and Eirik are by far the best experience we’ve had here in Rover. When we initially met for a meet and greet she asked questions about Spots routine, and as soon as he got there he was so comfortable running around the yard and meeting their dog Jax. Maria and Eirik both sent updates throughout the day and pictures of Spot while we were out of town for 5 days. Having to take care of a puppy can be challenging, but they took amazing care of him and treated him like family. They truly went above and beyond to make Spot and my family comfortable and words cannot begin to express our gratitude! Will definitely book with them again, and highly recommend them to anyone who may feel slightly worried about leaving your dog with someone else, they make the worry go away within minutes!

Maria and Eric are the BEST!!! They have a beautiful clean home. I left my 10 month old golden retriever with them and they cared for him like it was their own. Maria made me feel so comfortable and confident in her ability to care for Louie. She was in communication with me everyday ❤️ I will be using them again and I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a safe place for your dog while on vacation. :-)

Maria was a fantastic sitter - one of the very best. She and her partner have a beautiful, clean home and the space is really warm and welcoming. Her dog is large but super affectionate and was not aggressive at all with Phoebe (our 15-pound dog). :) Maria clearly gave her a lot of attention and sent pics regularly. Thank you so much Maria - we are so happy to have found you!

Information Maria G. would like to know about your pet

For the safety of other pets as well as your own I always ask for background information about your pet. Does he/she need medication? Does he/she have a hard time getting along with humans or other dogs? Is he/she an escape artist? Aside from that I would like to know their eating and sleeping preferences so I could accommodate. I am not a certified dog trainer but because I've had a lot of dogs in my lifetime and worked with most breeds, Ive become very familiar with the training process and can always provide some help in that area :)

A typical day

During the weekend we enjoy being home, we have a beautiful open yard and so much room to explore. Our usual week schedule is work from home, then go on a jog and cook up a delicious meal! Of course we get tired too, so after an active day we like to lounge on the couch and cuddle up with your pup and some TV.

We wake up at 5:30 am for our jobs, meaning that's the early and first potty break. We have a designated area in our yard where they can go and do this. We get ready for work and eat lunch around 12 when they will get their first walk. You can expect them to nap or play in the yard until around 4 when we wrap up our days and go to the gym in the garage. Last walk is a sunset walk before dinner then dinner and TV.
