Pet care experience
I live in UTC/La Jolla. I love to take care of animals for therapeutic use and physical exercise. I have had a cat for 5 years and helped my stepmom run a cat foster for 8 years. I have a wide range of experience taking care of Great Danes, Frenchies, Boxers, bunnies and chihuahuas. I also have experience with dogs who have sensory issues due to an abusive past. I have experience administering insulin to both dogs and cats. I’m comfortable with oral medication as well.

Maria is exactly what anyone looks for in an animal caregiver! She is thorough and attentive with her care, and you can tell she truly loves and cares for cats/animals! She sent me helpful updates, pictures and videos, and overall is an excellent communicator, responding to my initial drop-in request and all messages within just a few minutes. She was flexible with her schedule and helped relieve a lot of my anxiety by checking in with my cat AND helping fix his broken automatic feeder while I was out of town. Truly couldn’t recommend her more!!!

I always treat the animals as if they’re my own. I love them off the bat and understand leaving our own fur babies is hard. It’s even harder to trust someone to provide care which is why I prefer to over-communicate. I like to take lots of photos of the care I’ve provided so the pets’ parents can be reassured that they are well taken care of.

A typical day
I enjoy long walks for the dogs I care for especially if I can take them to the park, to the beach or out to eat. I love to sit with the animals, play with the , and cuddle them (if they’ll let me). I live right by a big park so it’s perfect since a lot of dogs run in the field.

Availability
I have mornings off and work around 3:30 near Torrey pines and don’t work more than 6-8 hours usually, Wed-Sun. I’m able to help most mornings and afternoons. I don’t take too many vacations since I’m still settling in my apartment and my job.
