I grew up with two cats so I have lots of cat experience. I also have lived with a roommate with a dog, and she actually first suggested that I should try petsitting! I’ve gained lots of dog experience through them and being on Rover for some time. While in college I volunteered at an animal shelter which I really enjoyed. This experience pushed me out of my comfort zone at first, especially when handling many dogs at once in a somewhat chaotic setting (for example one will start barking and set the rest of them off!), but I overcame the intimidation and I can keep my cool. I am naturally a quiet person and I think my calm demeanor puts animals at ease. Sadly I currently am not in a place in my life where I can have a pet of my own long-term but I'd be than happy to share my love with yours!
