Pet care experience
Domestic dogs have been a part of my life as pets ever since I was a child- I have cared for large breed, small breed, and newborn pups as well. I worked for 7 years at an Animal Shelter and then soent time at an Animal Hospital/Boarding Kennel, and thus have a good deal of animal care exposure. I do my best to provide comfort and attention for those creatures in the shelter's custody, whether that is arranging blankets and beds to suit a dog's size, sitting in their space to give them human interaction, finding ways to make medication easier, or remembering what their favorite toys/treats are. However, there is only so much I can do, so I wish to extend my care outside of the concrete walls, to pets that have already been adopted, both at work and at home.

My cats love having Margot over to visit! She is very professional and takes lots of great pictures of the animals, food/water levels, litter box, and any packages that arrive. She has great communication as well. When we ran out of litter box pads, she used her own puppy pads that she had to get us through the trip. I was sure to pay her for them and tipped her for that extra trouble! Thank you so much Margot!
Margot did an amazing job with Dozer. He looked forward to seeing her everyday. She knows what sh is doing with a big dog and had no trouble handling him for walks everyday.

Walks last the minimum of the Rover 30 minutes, unless weather (ie heat, heavy rain, or bitter cold) would make it safer to stop early. Water is given, and the pet can be brushed at the end if need be. Drop ins, I take care of food, water and walking/a litter box upon entry, and socialize/exercise the critters for the rest of the time.

Before sitting or walking, I would like to know how a dog is with other dogs, if they react to wildlife (squirrels, birds, rabbits, etc) and to what extent, and if there are any other "quirks" that are notable. I am not put off by any dog size, be them 3 or 130 pounds. A dog's breed is also no issue, particularly when it comes to pit bulls; I own a pit-mastiff mix, myself, and will not refuse an offer because the dog is a pit or pit mix. I also understand how to handle a dog that may be aggressive with other dogs/animals, and am comfortable using dog handling tools such as no-pull harnesses, headcollars, chokes, or prongs at the owner's request. I prefer to use fixed length nylon or chain leashes, not retractable versions, but those can be worked with.
A typical day
Walks will generally be done in an area described by the owner, if the owner has such a suggestion. If they request their dog should be walked around their neighborhood, that will be done. If that is not possible, then an area will be discussed and mutually agreed on by myself and the owning party. I want the dog(s) to be in a familiar area as often as possible. I am also fine with taking care of one or multiple cats.

I am available almost anytime any day, for either walks or pet sittings. Walks I request happen any time of day before ~7pm, so sunlight is still available. Drop-ins can be any time so long as there is safe entry. Please message me for more information and to discuss!
