I've a large home in a quiet yet pet-friendly building. Where your loved one will get the same hugs, compassion, and fun times as if they were home. Across the street is a park and Lake Michigan: How about a run in the park, or a walk along the lakepath? Yes, of course! I have 40+ years in animal care experience, including cats, dogs, horses, and birds. I have the time to give to your best friend, your dog or cat. Professional horse trainer and instructor in classical dressage Why I love dog sitting Always loved dogs, since I took care of Marcia McShane's fox terrier Zorro when I was 11, to now helping a friend who breeds and trains Portuguese Water Dogs. I also barn-sat at a farm for many years, caring for 2 German Shepherds, 1 Poodle, 3 cats, 1 parrot, and 12 horses. The Shepherds shepherded me everywhere, while Wolfie (the Poodle) trotted with me while I worked horses. Lucy, a Yellow Lab, is my current love. I spent many weekends caring for Jazzy, an Irish Setter, exploring the alleys of Wilmette IL together. And I'll never forget PeeWee and Bruce, Shih Tzu's, who would spin in different directions when they arrived for extended stays. At night PeeWee slept on one side of me and Bruce on the other. Margo has been watching our Dog, Chester, for 4 years now. We cannot say enough good things about her. Chester loves his visits to go see Margo. He gets lots of walks and love and affection and because Margo is also a horse trainer, she is extremely knowledgable about animal health and well-being. She has actually help us resolve health issue with Chester that our vet could not (e.g., distinguishing lameness from arthritis, diet, etc.).

Do they like to go for car rides. How are they meeting other dogs when we go for walks. Are they mannerly. How are they with cats
A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks There's a park across the street, we can stroll through the neighborhood, and particularly nice is a path along the lake. I'm an explorer myself, so I like walks -- especially with dogs Your dog's sleeping arrangement They may sleep where they like, depending on their suitability Time I'll spend with your dog My schedule is pretty flexible and I can work around your requests. But overall, I work part-time 4 days per week and from home the other 3 days. The days I'm away I'm gone from 11-5. If your dog is quiet and is good around horses, I might be able to take her/him with me to work (if you like)
