I'll love your fur kid like my own!

Pet care experience

I have lived with dogs all my life and believe that no home is complete without the pitter-patter of doggie paws! I am experienced with extra large breeds (I had a Newfoundland) and high-energy dogs (border collies). I also have experience with special needs dogs, including allergies, seizures, medications, etc. and puppies being house trained. I hold a certification in Animal Psychology from the International Council for Online Standards. Most importantly, I will love your fur kid as I have loved my own and respect your fur kid's individual routine and your rules. I live in my own home with a large fully fenced yard, without children. My 83 year old father is living with me for the winter. He is the one who taught me to love dogs and we were never without one very long when I was growing up. If you bring me your fur kid(s) for day care or boarding in my home, there will be no other family's fur kids except yours there during their stay. I'm near two dog parks and, if OK with you, will be happy to take your fur kids there to play.

We miss not having Margie close by, and look forward to her return. She is so conscientious and careful. We always rest assured our pets are in good hands with Margie!

Margie is the best! We couldn't ask for a better dog sitter. If she is ever not available, we would probably have to cancel our vacation!! :)

There are not enough stars to rate Margie. It was like leaving our Lola with an old friend,

Information Margie W. would like to know about your pet

I'm open to all breeds, but won't accept dogs that I feel may be aggressive. I welcome large and extra large breeds, including German Shepherds and Rottweilers.

A typical day

I live in a very quiet neighborhood near several parks. One is a large off-leash park with lots of dogs and a small and large dog section. Another is a small one only a short 5 or 6 blocks away, a nice diversion on a walk through the neighborhood, that usually has no other dogs there. The one I prefer is a 5 minute drive away, very quiet, usually with fewer than 5 or 6 dogs there at a time, that includes a small intercoastal beach for dogs who like to swim. We can also just go out in my large, fully fenced backyard, and play catch or, for seniors and low energy dogs, relax in the sun or the shade. If it's raining, we can still go outside and sit under the patio roof and watch the raindrops. Inside the house, we can play fetch or just sit on the couch (if you permit it) and cuddle. For dogs who love to go for rides, we can just tool around the neighborhood (in the cool weather, in my convertible!).
