Dogs and cats have been a part of my family since I was born, so I know how important it is for your first baby to be left in good hands. I’m experienced with a variety of temperaments and enjoy getting to know pets’ unique personalities. It would be my pleasure to be your first baby’s buddy when you need to be elsewhere!

I am extremely happy to have hired Margaret to take care of my two dogs! She sent me photos daily and by the end the dogs were cuddling with her, sitting on her lap, etc. My one very old dog gets anxious and I hate thinking of her being alone so it was wonderful to have the peace of mind of Margaret taking such good care of them. Will definitely be hiring her again!
Margaret stayed with our dog, Heidi, for 4 nights and took such good care of her. Heidi was comfortable and happy and our apartment was spotless. Thank you, Margaret!

Highly recommend booking Margaret. I had to go out of town and hired her to housesit. My dog is undergoing heartworm treatment so I was nervous to leave her but Margaret was reassuring and her daily updates brought me peace of mind. She was also very flexible with scheduling! I also really appreciated that she left my apartment in perfect condition and even washed my sheets so I wouldn’t have to worry about it when I got back at 3am! Mable absolutely loved her and I will definitely be booking her again!

I am adamant about keeping a careful eye on my own pets and carry that into my care for my clients’ pets. I am adamant about always walking dogs with a leash and making note of our surroundings. I am comfortable allowing dogs to socialize with other dogs that we may meet as long as it is permitted by the client, however I am always prepared to step in and diffuse an interaction if needed. I think that routine and consistency are important, but that there is always time for praises, treats, and belly rubs!

Please let me know how your dog is with other dogs, kids, people, and also if they have a high hunting instinct so I can be sure to be mindful of passing squirrels, etc. Is your dog allergic to anything? Are there any quirks I should know about?
A typical day
Whatever activities your dog loves, I will love. I my favorite activity is going out for walks around the neighborhood. If your dog is used to going to the dog park, please tell me which one and what time and they’ll be there! Hiking in East Rock is always a fun activity! As much as I like getting out and about, I’m never opposed to hanging out inside or having a lazy day on the couch. Whatever your dog needs!

Availability
I’m working full time Monday through Friday. I work remotely in New Haven on Monday and Friday. On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday I work in a Westport. I am more flexible with availability on Monday/Friday and on the weekends. I am happy to accommodate last minute requests for those tough times when things just come up. If you have specific needs, please let me know and I’d be happy to accommodate, if possible.
