Grew up with litters of dogs, lived with single dogs when the kids were young and ever after. Life without a dog is a poor life. If my dog could talk, he would say "I have her well trained to feed and care for me with reliability and kindness." As you may imagine, he is a bit spoiled. Dogs are not our whole life but they make our lives whole said a dog-loving philosopher, but they do take time and sometimes we need to ask others for help if we are unavailable.
