Pet care experience
I grew up in a house where we always had at least one pet, whether it was a dog, a cat, a Guinea pig, a hamster, a fish, a lizard. I’m the first person family and friends ask to dog sit because I love spending quality time with animals and know the importance of a pet getting proper care whether you’re out of town or busy at work. I love animals big and small and have been dog and cat sitting for neighbors and family since I was 12. I know that some pets require special routines or treats and am always willing to adapt to your pets needs!
Reviews
Margaret was very attentive and patient with our shy dog.
Margaret was the best decision we made to watch our girls! She was so good with them and kept us in the loop with texts and pictures! We will be using her again when we travel!!!
Margaret was great!! We would definitely try and book her again. Our dog loved her.
Margaret is the absolute best! Very flexible schedule and willing to help out in any way necessary!

I have a 6 year old cat named Luna. I make sure to check her food and water levels several times a day because she’s a grazing feeder. Making sure litter boxes are clean is crucial. I make sure dogs have the required amount of food, plenty of water, and that our walks include bathroom needs and plenty of outdoor exercise with the walk. Of course many pets have specific preferences of toys, food, treats, and bathroom habits. My goal when taking care of someone’s pets is to know what a typical routine for that animal is and trying to match it as much as I can without being it’s owner. My aim is to make sure your pets are happy and you have peace of mind that the rules and routines you have set up are upheld so you do not have to worry about any surprises!
Information Margaret H. would like to know about your pet
I prefer to know if your dog is trained in a specific style of dog training, any dietary restrictions or medical concerns. I also like to know your dogs temperament with new people, how they react to animals they may see on a walk (I.e. if your dog likes to greet people in your neighborhood, if your dog tends to bark or tug on a leash if it sees another dog) as these things will be helpful to know to guide us on the walk and I can let the owner know if anything was out of the norm on the walk.
A typical day
I like to take the dogs on walks around the neighborhood they live in, especially in the beginning of getting to know the dog, as a familiar area tends to ease any anxiety a dog may have about a new person walking them. I also like to find out from owners if there’s a specific park or location that the dog likes to go to, their favorite toys to bring if we go, and bring a treat or two and water for both myself and for the dog.
