Pet care experience
I'm a part-time Appalachian student and a full-time dog lover! I have an 11-year old Shepard/Sheltie mix named Bella who's still a puppy at heart. I have been around dogs all my life, and have never met a pup that I didn't love. I frequently volunteer walking dogs at the Watauga Humane Society, and have experience with all sizes and energy levels. I consider pets to be part of the family, and I will treat your fur baby no differently! I am currently pursuing a Bachelors of Social Work and prefer to dog sit on weekends (Friday-Sunday) in order to be available to your pup 24 hours a day. However, I can be available during weekdays (Monday-Thursday) in between my class schedule for walks and drop-in visits. I have known Maren for about 2 years now, and she has always been a very responsible and kind individual. She loves all dogs and all animals in general, and has a dog of her own. Bella, her dog, is a testimonial in her self of the quality of care that Maren can offer; she is well trained, very fit because of all the walks she goes on and the quality diet she eats, and has the best temperment one can imagine. I highly recommend Maren for any and all of your dog caregiving needs!
Maren has been my next door neighbor for 10 years. She has taken care of her dog Bella since the day she got her when we were very young. I've asked her to take care of my 11 year old Maltese on multiple occasions and she is fantastic. She's extremely attentive to dog's needs, affectionate and caring, and the best sitter I could have ever asked for. I have no doubts that she will be an excellent dog sitter, catering to the needs of each individual pet.

A typical day
Where we will go on walks- For friends that only need shorter walks, the trails through my neighborhood are a fun, low intensity option. For those who have more energy to burn, I enjoy hiking at various spots on the Parkway and walks through the Greenway trail. In my house- A variety of toys to choose from- bonus points if you can teach my dog how to play with others, because she doesn't yet understand that concept. She'll just watch you from afar and wag her tail. Sleeping arrangements- Unless you have a preference, most likely we'll all end up on the bed together. Bella has a dog bed but apparently mine is more comfy and I don't disagree.
