I am thrilled to be able to host your loved ones in my home. My rover hours for requests, drop offs and pick ups are from 7am to 7pm. Planes are often late and people need to extend their stay to the next day so please bring extra food just in case. My daughter and I own a home with 3 rental units in the backyard. Thus there is a lot of coming and going along my part of the house which is in the front. I cannot take dogs who bark at every little sound. I could care less if they have accidents inside the house as that is way easier for me to deal with than barky dogs. I just opened up the dog sitting for larger dogs but because I no longer have the physical strength to control them on walks I can only take large dogs that are leash trained to heel or you hire a dog walker to get them their exercise. Because of the problems I have encountered I will not take the first dog sit for longer than 3 or 4 days so I can ascertain their true behaviour in my environment before agreeing to a longer stay. The main thing you are paying for with me as a sitter is that I give my full attention and love to your animals and I only leave for grocery shopping. I do my best to make doctor appointments on days that I do not have dog sits. There is a doggy door leading into the front yard which is where I spend most of my time either playing with your dogs or reading a book while resting in my beloved hammock. I love being outdoors. Most dogs love being outside with me. I only take one family at a time. Extended families where dogs spend a lot of time together and ‘get along’ would be the exception to this rule. I treat your loved ones as I would my own and spend pretty much all day with them. If I leave to get groceries or for an appointment I usually keep the dogs inside the house by closing the doggie door. I do require a meet and greet for all potential bookings to assure all of us that this is a good fit. For new clients the first stay must have a drop off time before 3 pm so your pet has time to adjust before bedtime. I cannot handle hyper active dogs. I am much better with coaxing the shy ones into my realm of peace. I can walk dogs that are well trained on leashes and that have a harness. My quiet hours on Rover are set from 8pm to 7am so you will not be receiving a response during those hours. Please contact me if you have any further questions. About this sitter: I love all animals and nature. I spend all of my free time camping. I am a quiet person focusing on yoga, humor, and my physical therapy to make aging a bit more graceful. Although I am retired I do still practice energetic healing which can involve drumming, chanting, tibetian bells and singing bowls. I have as yet heard no protests from animals and if your dog is sick I would be doing the healing session on them just using breath work and meditation. Of course I will clear that with you beforhand in case for some reason you don’t want energetic healing performed on your dog. I mostly do distance work so I don’t even need to touch the animal or person. Why I love dog sitting I have loved animals all my life. We had dogs and cats in my family while growing up. About my yard I have a fenced in yard with many plants and trees so let me know if your dog is a ‘digger’ so I can make adjustments as needed. My experience administering medication I will administer medication in the form of their food. I have done shots for diabetic dogs.
