Loving every fury heartbeat

Pet care experience

I TAKE PRIDE IN CARING FOR YOUR PETS!! Hello, my name is Marcy. The services I offer are pet sitting, dog walking, basic dog training, house sitting and I also perform dog behavior modifications. I have been pet sitting for over twenty five years now; training animals for fifteen years. I am Red Cross Certified for Animal Care and Animal Behavior Modification, I have a ton of experience. I also am enrolled at Penn Foster College to obtain my Veterinary Technician certificate. My passion in life has and always will be for animals. I grew up with my parents breeding Golden Retrievers, in fact while I was still in the crib, the female, Sally, gave birth to a litter under my crib. My mom tried and tried to move the litter, but Sally moved the pups back persistently. This just goes to show I was born to be around animals. I have been horseback riding since I was seven and have taken care of, nursed wounded horses, trained, and had a blast being around such strong beautiful animals. I was the leader of My 4-H; "Field of Dreams", and a very active member of our Pony Club; "Deep Run Hunt Pony Club". Fifteen years ago I started training horses. Two years later I was 19 and ready for my dog, not a family dog, but my very own dog. I immediately got into animal behavior and started helping friends to train their puppies. I had done such a good job with my own, Mazy-Grace. Since then I have had my eyes opened and have been volunteering at shelters, rescued a lot of dogs and cats, and become a member of several societies involved with such things. Now I have my own small business, my business is generating funds for me to obtain my Veterinary Technician Degree. I will and am able to make work my passion, or you may say I turned my passion into work. Either way I love animals and always will and always have treated all animals as if they were my own. I take pride in caring for your pets. When I am pet sitting, I keep a log of how the animals are acting at each visit. Just in case one of the pets is sick, not eating correctly or acting out. This way you and I will know what to expect, corrected or if I need to make a vet visit. I also send the customers updated text and pictures (on my smart phone) to reassure that their babies are doing great. I am a qualified dog trainer. As well I also dog walk. I volunteer at local Shelters and help new owners adapt to their new lifestyle. Why I love dog sitting I have an advocate dog lover since I was born. My parents bred Golden Retrievers and when I was two weeks old Sally, the female, gave birth under my crib. My mother moved her den four times, but Sally kept moving the den back under my crib. I grew up learning how to walk by pulling on our dogs' hair, I can not remember a moment in my life that I have not either fostered, full time pet sit or owned a dog. Meet my pets I have three dogs. All are friendly and each animal has shared their home flawlessly with other dogs. Two are German Shepherds and one is a Golden Retriever/Bernese Mountain Dog mix. They are very active; their ages range very slightly and are all you g- 3, 2, and 1 yo. About my yard I have 9 acres right next to the State Forest. Fencing is in the works; but not necessary. I live on a gravel one lane road and my dogs do not roam where they don’t know. My experience administering medication Yes I am comfortable administering medications and I have attended seminars and am qualified to administer all different types. I am comfortable giving oral and injection medications.

Marcy was amazing! She came through for us at the last minute after our initial sitter didn't work out and we were already out of town. We got updates throughout the weekend on how our dog was doing which made us feel very comfortable despite the fact that we hadn't even met Marcy. She gave our dog lots of attention and made sure she was well cared for. We came home to a very happy and tired dog. :) We look forward to having Marcy watch Spottie again in the future.

Information Marcy B. would like to know about your pet

I will need to know medical conditions and background about such conditions. I definitely do not discriminate dogs based on breed. I like to know as much as you can tell me! Rescued? Animal dislikes (ex: when walking and you see a squirrel- be prepared!). Favorites toy or treat. When you are away and I’m new to your pet - I want to be able to make them feel better if anxious or timid. And of course the obvious instructions: WALKS: how long are yours generally ? How fast? How far? How many times a day? POTTY: (sorry) regular/loose/hard? How many times a day are normal? Favorite spot? Off leash only?(I’ve had a dog who you could run for 4 miles and she’d hold it til she was off leash and ducked behind a certain bush?‍♀️). FOOD: Free feed? How much and when? Will they eat if you aren’t there/are there? MEDICINE: How do the react to accepting? How long have they been on? Have they had any reactions? Emergency vet & emergency contact?

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks I live at the very end of the museum district on the edge of the near west-end. There are a lot of very quiet neighborhoods near me. I also take dogs to this fenced in soccer/baseball field nearby. All my neighbors take their dogs their as well. I can take them off the leash and play ball, frisbee, or just run around. This area is two to three times the size of the dog parks around here and a lot less crowded. Your dog's sleeping arrangement I have blankets and dog beds in a room directly next to my bedroom. I shut the doors to the halls and my bedroom and the dog room connect. Also there is a little porch connected off that room. If it is nice outside I open the porch for the dogs to go in and out. Time I'll spend with your dog Well that depends on the day and how much your dog is going to be napping after playing with mine:) I am usually not gone for more than five to six hours total throughout the day. I go to school on-line, so I am home a lot. My dogs are my best friends, so I am always playing with them. Especially if there is a new dog in the house. There are three stories to my house, with a doggie-door and my fence is a large privacy fence all the way around. So I like to play with your dog in order to show him/her the whole area and where toys might be stashed. Time I'll spend with your dog I generally spend 1-1.5 hrs per visit and make at least three visits. Extra house-sitting services Yes, I am. I bring in mail, newspaper, packages, etc. I will water plants and turn on and off the lights, therefor it will not look like you are on vacation.
