This guy's the best. Seriously. I had an internship for law school in Boston this summer, which is about 2 hours away from where I live in Maine. I was a nervous wreck trying to find someone that could help with my dogs while I was gone. I went two days a week for the entire summer, by train, into Boston. The idea of trusting someone to take care of my difficult (I love them, but difficult) dogs drove me crazy. I almost cancelled the internship because I could not find the right person that I trusted, until I happened to find Marcus on Rover. I really lucked up. I have a Bluetick Coonhound that is a bit aggressive in certain situations, mainly with other dogs, and a bit territorial. I also have a Pit Bull mix that is as sweet as they come, but he is a Pit Bull which takes a very knowledgable and on-the-ball owner/caretaker. To make it even more of a challenge for Marcus, I live in a gigantic apartment building, actually an old refurbished textile mill, that has MANY dog owners. Just to take them in and out of the building is like running through a gauntlet. Marcus handled it like it was nothing. He came for the initial visit so that I could give him the rundown of how to take them out. And it is a RUNDOWN. I had a page and a half list prepared when he got there. Most people would feel overwhelmed, but he understood the concern and was not even phased. I am such a freak that I asked him if I could do a dry run and follow he and the dogs, ninja style, and see if everything was ok. Again, the average person would have headed for the hills, but he just chuckled and said "No problem." Fast forward to today, 3 months later and the last day of my Boston internship; Marcus has been phenomenal. Not one negative remark. There were several instances where another not-so-great dog owner in my building did something that could have potentially caused big trouble, but Marcus handled each time with an insane amount of know-how and professionalism. Even the amount of pictures and detail from each visit is out of control. It's nuts. I have hired a ton of people over the years to help out with my dogs when necessary. I have seen some of the worst and some of the best. This guy is as good as it gets. It's basically like hiring The Dog Whisperer. I believe he's leaving Maine for a while to road trip it around the country, which completely sucks for me, but if you're lucky enough to be in an area that he will be visiting and he's providing his services, it's definitely your gain. Hopefully he gets back here before too long, my girlfriend and I need a vacation!

What a seamless experience! I am on vacation with my dog and needed a day to sightsee in Portland without the pooch. After checking out several local doggy day cares, I realized that the registration process was way too complicated and impossible to do on short notice. Then, I decided to try the Rover app. Marcus came to my house for a meet and greet within 8 hours of my contacting him! Despite his knowing this was a one-time gig, Marcus was completely professional as he not only met Bellle but went over the all the pertinent info about the Rover service. I felt completely comfortable with Marcus taking care of my senior corgi. She took to him immediately. And the Rover card with the details of the walk--and the photo shoot--were the icing on the cake. I am sold on Rover and plan to use it when I return home. My only disappointment is that Marcus is here and not in Wisconsin!
