If I could provide less than 1 star I would. I'm astounded this Rover can still interact with pets. Marcella was hired to watch my senior dog (14 yrs) and my puppy (6 months). She would show up for a few minutes but then leave the dogs alone, including leaving the puppy in his kennel. The puppy was alone for so long he pooped in his kennel and it got everywhere--and she claims to have fed him 2x from then, but there was poop in his bowl. She fed him with poop in his bowl. Thurs: The first night she showed up at my house at 5am after several text messages and phone calls. 30 minutes later I receive a message asking how to calm the puppy in his kennel. Dogs alone 8.5 hours with the puppy in his kennel. Fri: Marcella left at 1030am the next day. She returns at 1048pm. Puppy has been in kennel this whole time. Sat: 0910am: Marcella leaves my house and later sends me a message she will be off early. 1000pm: Marcella returns to my house. Dogs alone and puppy in kennel for 12 hours. She then calls me that the puppy had soiled his kennel. Marcella asked on the phone where to find cleaning supplies. She also indicated that this never happened to her before. 1045pm: She “cleaned” up and left a message she put all the pads in the crate. She did not put the blanket and left poop in his food bowl (why was it in his crate all day????) I receive a message that the dog kennel pads are in the washer and both dogs are fed and she would ask to get out earlier the next day so he doesn’t do it again. back and forth about her work schedule (was only 6 hours when I contracted her for the job) and she will be able to stay with them as Marcella is leaving my house. 1041pm: Marcella leaves my house and the puppy returned to kennel after 40 minutes outside kennel. Puppy spent ~23 hours in kennel> Sunday: 0636am: I message asking if the dogs have been alone all night. 0732am: Marcella returns to my house. 0747am: Marcella answers she fell asleep at her friend's house and I'm welcome to ask for a refund for that night. 2:00pm: Marcella leaves my house and I message her when she was back (she was supposed to be there all day) and she indicated 1000pm as she was doing Easter with her family. I asked her to return earlier and I terminated the Rover at 826pm. Family friend arrives at 938pm. Friend arrives to: No water for the dogs Soiled kennel pads were not cleaned and just thrown in the washer. Family friend went to feed puppy the next morning and there was poop in his bowl. Marcella allegedly had fed him 2x with poop in his bowl. The house was also left at 80 degrees. Family friend had to sanitize all over again—including the washing machine. Puppy also required a bath due to being left in his crate for so long. It took days for my dogs to settle. Yes, I ended up contacting Rover about this and getting a full refund but I'm shocked that she is able to continue to work with animals.
