Life w/o dogs is boring!
Pet care experience
Moved from San Francisco to beautiful Pasadena a year ago, originally from Colombia where I grew up with constant contact with animals at the farm, and more importantly, I grew up with dogs- they're definitely part of my life!  I've done pet sitting for my friends and through Wag. I love dogs and know well about their behaviors, personalities, and breeds/habits among others. Love to go on long walks/hikes myself and walking your pet would be such a treat! About me: - I don't have pets of my own currently, so I can fully dedicate to yours! - I have cat & dog First Aid training - Clean background check - Non-smoker (and don't mind if you do, but I personally don't, also prefer pets don't breathe the smoke) - My brother is a veterinarian! and his specialty is dogs and horses, also my uncle, cousins etc. so it runs in the fam! Look forward to taking care of your pets as if they were mine, with love and having fun, of course!

Marcela took such great care of our dog while we were away. Our previous Rover sitter no longer watches dogs, so I was nervous in finding a new sitter who made us feel comfortable. Marcela jumped right in there with Ziggy- he loved her, and we could tell she loved him. She kept us updated with pictures and nice long walks. She was very flexible and accommodating with our changing schedule. Marcela is a gem, and we will use her in the future for sure!
Marcela boarded our 75 labradoodle for a week while we were away. We could tell that she really loved our Theo and treated him as if he were her own. We’ve had a lot of sitters over the years and yet Marcela still blew us away with her responsiveness, generosity and capabilities. Not only did she find a way to train our untrainable leash puller, but she gave him serious exercise every day (and always shared the mileage of those walks). She took photos, videos and was immediately reached anytime we needed her. At the last minute we had to extend our stay and yet Marcela was incredibly cool about it. When we picked Theo up, he was happy, healthy and had even learned new tricks! As much as I hate to admit it, as we turned to leave, Theo ran back to Marcela wagging his tail and probably considering staying behind :) We feel so blessed to have met Marcela!
Marcela took care of my dog gypsy, and did an absolute wonderful job. He loves her and was excited to see her every time she came over. She talks to him very sweetly and is very energetic and playful with him.
Wow, my dog really loved Marcela, he came back happier than ever and got sad when she left. Her kindness and professionalism exceed our expectations. She is def part of the fam now.

The most important is building rapport with the pet first and understanding how they like to be picked up to go for the walks, what turns them on, what makes them uneasy and such. A typical day
I go for long walk around Caltech, San Marino, Downtown Pasadena and hilly areas around, there is so much to explore in Pasadena that I enjoy so much doing the walks and having your pet stay healthy too coming with me! I love to play with them whether they have their own toys, with a stick, running and building rapport with them. While doing this, I encourage that they poop and pee. I'll provide them with water when needed and such. Please let me know if you have preferences for your pet and happy to follow!
