Pet care experience
I’ve taken care of dogs since as long as I can remember! Growing up, my family had a blind and deaf senior pup (she lived until she was 18!) that required a lot of care including diaper changes, med administration, and mobility assistance. Given my family was at work most of the time, a lot of the responsibility fell on me. Since then, I have cared for many pets of all shapes and sizes. I helped raise two puppies with my parents and now have a puppy of my own (she is 6 months and loves to play with other pups!). I especially love caring for senior pups and dogs that require a little extra love.

Mara loves all dogs! She has taken care of each of our dogs, from our 17-year old rescue who needed special care and attention, to our younger guys, who can get a bit crazy and need plenty of exercise. She easily manages multiple dogs at a time on walks, whether around a lake or up and down sidewalks. When our dogs see her coming, they get so excited, knowing she will give each one some individual loving. I highly recommend her as a dog walker!

Our yard is mostly fenced aside from a 15 foot area where the driveway is. We have a line set up where we can hook up a dog and they have a 30ft radius to play in. We are also huge on walks, so staying active won’t be an issue. We do have a 6 month old dog in our home, so everything has been puppy-proofed.

Please let me know of any restrictions for the dog both in terms of food/treats and things they’re allowed to do. I will try and continue whatever training you are working on at home, so it’s helpful to know in advance!
A typical day
I love to stay active with dogs and if your dog is up for it, I typically take the dog around lake Harriet. We can also play fun treat puzzles and go to the dog park (if appropriate). If it’s a low energy pup, they will also have a great time just lounging in the back yard or at the beach nearby.

Availability
I currently work a full time, hybrid job. I go into the office less than 20 hours per week so I am rarely away from home for more than 4 hours. I always make sure I am home every 4 hours to let my 6 month pup out at home. During the weekends I am wide open for walks, but given things get busy here, it would be best to not host a pup here during the weekend.
