Pet care experience
*Job-searching is my current full-time job -- I have a lot of flexibility!* I used to think that people were a little crazy for calling their dogs their "fur kids" but now, with a pup of my own, I get it. I'm a Dog Mom. I know the sudden sink in your gut when you're out eating dinner with friends, on your second drink, and your brain suddenly jumps to your poor pup. And you think, "Are they okay, are they happy?" Your next thought should be, "Yep, they're with Mara, they're fine." I'm going to treat your dog like my own - engaging walks (different route every time or playing "red light green light"), long romps in the park (I love playing chase, but I'm down for anything), or low key snugs on the couch. But beyond that, I've taken learning and behavior courses and have done extensive research on dog behavior and health as preparation for my own pup. I'm prepared for the good and the messy.

Mara was great! This was my first time using Rover and Mara did a great job checking in/feeding my cat while I was away, she provided thorough updates after checking in as well as pictures. I would highly recommend!
I met Mara before engaging her, and my initial impression was borne throughout our interaction. An obvious dog lover, smart and compassionate. Mara went above and beyond the job description, and helped me with a couple of non-dog related things, as I had not anticipated quite everything I would be experiencing post rotator cuff surgery. She was great with my cute but feisty ball of energy, and I would not hesitate to ask for her help again.

A typical day
The better question is: what does your dog like to do? I'm comfortable doing whatever your pup wants to do and am open to the following: walks, runs, off-leash playing in fenced-in dog parks, throwing balls or sticks until my arm falls off, wrestling, and snuggling.

Availability
I have a full time, WFH position so I'm home to provide your pet company throughout the day! I do workout most mornings, and may have some evening plans but I am always upfront about anything that keeps me out of the house for more than an hour.
