I have been sitting with Rover since the fall of 2016 and it has been a wonderful experience! I moved from Newport to Portsmouth in the summer of 2022. Our new house doesn’t have a fence (yet!) and will be under going renovations for the next few years - so I am not offering any in-home services like boarding or day care for the time being. With the move and renovation, I haven’t had time to build relationships with new clients and their dogs and I’ve only been accepting repeat clients. Our house projects have slowed down considerably and I thought it would be a great time to open up my profile to new clients! Since joining Rover in the fall of 2016, I have had the pleasure of sitting so many amazing dogs! I have also had the pleasure of building wonderful relationships with many dog owners around Aquidneck Island and beyond. Where do I begin.. It has been a long time since my husband and I have been able to take a vacation and fully enjoy ourselves without worrying constantly about our dog. She is a rescue with severe separation anxiety and has run away from a sitter before. Mara not only reassured us that Bailey was well taken care of, but she treated her as her own. She was the absolute sweetest and provided us with daily updates and photos of their time together. I have never before been so secure in knowing our girl was being taken care of. What an absolute gem Mara is!
There can be no finer person to take care of your dog than Mara. Absolutely the friendliest, most professional and punctual person ever. Belle just adores her and waits at the window when she knows Mara is coming. Just the best!

Pet safety in my own home and yours is my number one priority. It’s very important to me that when I’m sitting a dog, their routine stays as normal as possible. I will work with you so bedtimes, walks, mealtimes, etc all happen like normal. I also believe in leaving a space better than I found it, so when I house sit it’s almost as if I was never there.

I’d love to get to know your dog’s personality, especially how they are on walks and at mealtime. What time do they usually wake up, eat breakfast, and go for a walk? Is their food made a certain way? Do they take any medications or supplements? How do they get a long with dogs in passing on walks? Do they react to kids or bikes? Etc.
A typical day
I will talk with you about your normal routines, routes, and activities to keep your dog as happy, entertained, and exercised as possible. I love walks, beach adventures, enrichment and puzzle games, and just hanging out.

Like so many of us, I’ve been working 100% remote since the start of the pandemic. I have always prioritized a work schedule that allows me to spend as much time and possible with my dog, Wiley. My flexible work schedule has also allowed me to spend plenty of quality time with dogs I sit. I love having the ability to walk Wiley at any time of day, and also gives me lots of time for snuggles.
