About this sitter: *Due to the covid-19 pandemic I've extended my schedule to help care for the fur babies whose parents are essential workers.* I've had dogs over the course of my life from a poodle to black lab mix. I enjoy giving dogs a lot of attention and playing with them to giving massages and brushing their coat. I was on vacation in the summer of '05 and a dear friend of mine offered me to stay at his home and to keep his dog, a golden retriever, company for the last couple of weeks of my vacation while he worked. His dog Charlie is a very loyal, and jealous, dog. He wouldn't let anyone near my friend. If he sat on the couch you can bet Charlie would be sitting right next to him. Within the first day Charlie warmed up to me as I would play with him and take him for his walks outside and he would sleep at my feet in the quest bed which was an unusual behavior for him. In addition I would get my friend's mail every couple of day while I took Charlie on his walks. When it came time for me to leave and go back to work my friend took Charlie with him to his place of business before I left later that day. My friend called me about a week later and told me that when they got home Charlie went straight to the quest room, then later throughout the rest of the house, looking for me and spent the next week sleeping in the quest bed expecting my return. He said he has never seen Charlie do that for anyone. This is by far my favorite story to tell and it always seem to bring a tear to my eye as it is a testiment to my love for dogs. Why I love dog sitting I fell in love with dogs since I was a child as far back as I can remember. The most recent 2 dogs I've had was: a purebreed chihuahua named Comet that my family took care of while I was overseas as a Marine Security Guard - my connection with him was so great that I knew he had passed away a month before I received the news, and a black lab-mix named Takashi - I had to give him up to a good home because the place I was staying at the time didn't allow pets. They were all my children. I now have a wonderful Chihuahua mix who fell in love and adopted me at first sight. My experience administering medication I can administer oral medication.
