Canine CPR Certified Pet Sitter

Pet care experience

The most important thing about myself is I'm an animal lover, they are my passion. Throughout high school I worked as a kennel technician at Creekwood Veterinary Hospital where I would care for the animals. I would clean the clinic, walk dogs, feed animals, and give sick animals medicine when needed. In college I volunteered with a wildlife sanctuary near San Antonio, mostly I would help clean cages and bedding, prepare food, and provide enrichment. Although I now work full time I spend some weekends volunteering at the Houston Humane Society where I walk dogs, socialize the cats, and take photos for the website. I've watched many pets for family and friends over the years and I love doing it. I treat them as my own and love getting to know their personalities.

Mandi is by far the best dog sitter we’ve had the pleasure of working with and we are look forward to working with her in the future. Our boys loved her, maybe even a little too much. She dealt with Toby’s excessive hugging (aka humping) very graciously. We also just took Toby to the vet a few days before we left and therefore had more medicine to give the boys than usual. She handled all the extra medicine wonderfully, even applying Toby’s mousse for his irritated skin. She kept in touch with us throughout the four days, keep us updated on medicine, took the boys on multiple walks daily and even had a sweet photoshoot of Hudson and Toby. Both of the boys really loved being watched and hanging out with Mandi!

It is important to know if the dog (or cat if petsetting) has any special diet restrictions, what they are fearful of, and if the dog is reactive to humans or other dogs.

A typical day

I care for each pet I sit as if they were my own. I treat each pet I watch with the same love and respect as I treat my own pets. When dog sitting I usually take them for walks around the neighborhood, play at the home, and maybe snuggle if they want to. I work during the week but on the weekends I'm able to spend a lot of quality time with your pet. I don't think I have a dog-sitting style exactly, I'm open to whatever will make the owners and the dog I'm watching most comfortable :)
