Animal Lover with Pro Experience

Pet care experience

I'm an animal-lover with professional experience as an animal care provider at Capital Humane Society and as a pet sitter. I now work a 9-5 in the Department of Developmental Disabilities and pet sit on the side. I am also a foster through a local rescue, and enjoy providing a loving home for special needs dogs and bottle baby kittens until they find their forever families. At CHS, I was responsible for feeding, medicating, walking, bathing, cleaning up after, and loving every animal in the shelter’s care. I worked with everything from 120 pound Rottweilers to the smallest baby mice. I have unique experience caring for juvenile, elder, and special needs pets. Whether you're looking for high-energy playtimes for your running companion, or just some mental stimulation and love as your old friend rests his rickety bones, I can handle it all with expert-level care and a big heart. I'm happy to provide exercise, medication, dietary management, and companionship. I never discriminate because of breed, age, or special need. I have a diabetic cat of my own, and understand the added financial burden of finding pet care for a sick or special-needs pet. I don’t charge more if your animal needs medications (with the exception of animals who require substantially more time to medicate than a 30 minute drop-in visit allows.) I also have a rabbit and fish. If you have a multi-species household, you can be confident that I am prepared to handle it all. I look forward to meeting you and your furry friends!

Mallory watched my beloved Chip while my family and I were out of state for a wedding. She did an amazing job, sent pictures and updates regularly. Mallory was attentive to Chops needs and schedule. Chip and Mallory bonded, and Chip loves his new Auntie! I would recommend Mallory highly!! She is amazing.

Mallory is an amazing sitter. My boys love her and she always sends cute photos. She is responsible and great with my furbabies. They get excited every time she comes over and I love knowing that someone who loves them as much as I do is watching them while I am away. Definitely try to rebook with Mallory every time I leave town.

Skills

4 years of experience
Oral medication administration
Senior dog experience
Special needs dog experience
Can provide daily exercise

Safety, trust & environment

I always make sure surroundings are safe, fences are shut, and collars/leads are secure. I know how devastating one small mistake can be, and always do my best to keep your precious companions safe.

Information Mallory R. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know how often your dog needs to go outside. Any "quirks" are also good to know (shy with strangers, aggressive towards other dogs, sensitive to having ears touched, etc). While I never pet sit more than one dog at a time (unless they're from the same home), it is good to know what level of caution to take on walks and in public spaces.

A typical day

I look forward to providing play time and plenty of stimulating walks. I’m also happy to keep up on any training you’ve been working on, while you’re away.

I’m generally available early mornings, evenings, and weekends. If you need a lunch time visit I can likely arrange that with a few days notice. If you have internet that you’re comfortable sharing, I can also house sit on days that I’m working remotely with notice. Thank you!
