Empathy and Pats for Pets
Pet care experience
I’m a nurse from Texas, but also an artist and a self proclaimed adventurer. I recently left a long term job to pursue my life long dream of bicycling across Japan. Of my many travels I’ve never been to a more beautiful and welcoming place as Utah. So of course, I’ve proudly made it my home as of 2020. I have a Siberian cat, Nevada, who is probably my opposite in personality, but is reliably loyal and kind-spirited. Through-out my life I’ve cared for and owned many pets: fish, reptiles, invertebrates, plants, birds, dogs, chickens, horses, goats, cats, ferrets, hedgehogs, hamsters, rats, and bunnies. I’ve spent most of my summers and weekends in my hometown volunteering at the local wildlife rescue, particularly getting to know desert birds and a sweet mule deer, named Habib. I’ve also spent a great deal of time working for horse boarding stables. As an adult with personal income, pet ownership has always been an obsession; I’m on the Internet or in the library learning everything I can from history, husbandry, traits and ancestry to diet and anatomy. Even as a small child, I vowed to work in a zoo with the late Steve Irwin. Even so, every pet I’ve encountered cannot be summed up in research and data. They’re living bodies with the same electric impulses that power our own creative extraordinary brains. They’re individuals that deserve respect, sacrifice, patience, and love. I do understand that a pet owner will know more about their pet than myself and I will do what is asked of me within my own moral capacity and evidenced in scholarly research. Beyond the seriousness of my care, in person I come off as goofy and laid-back, much less intense than this “About Me.” Let’s work out the details, together. I want to help you feel knowledgeable and secure with who you delegate to care for your loved ones.
Reviews
Mallory is wonderful with my dogs. She is always on time and respectful of my time. She has stayed in my home to watch a very young and at times, I’ll mannered dog. She took the time to learn about her breed and helped train our girl. It was not expected and she went above and beyond for us. Mallory made sure our baby girl was taken care of, took her for walks and played with her to make sure she got the exercise she needs. Mallory is very dependable and I would recommend her to anyone who needs help with their fur baby.
Mallory is dependable and reliable. She loves all animals. She goes the extra mile to help animals she is compassionate and loving. I have seen her help baby squirrels, birds and abandoned baby kittens. She was the only one I could trust to take my chihuahuas to the vet when I could not. One of my dogs needs gentle care due to her fragile condition. One of my dogs has limited mobility in her back legs. My dogs are always happy to see her. I highly recommend her with confidence.
Mallory has pet sat my 3 cats and dog and they absolutely LOVE HER! Any time she comes to care for my dog, Yam, she makes sure to send updates in pictures and videos of all my babies and they literally always look so happy, calm and content, never stressed. The cats, Ming, Ben, and Keeks, take care of themselves for the most part, but food, litter and water are all in perfect condition, which I love because around 3 days with 3 cats you start to notice those things needing some care. She really goes above and beyond for my fur babies and for me, as their owner. I would recommend Mallory to ANYONE in a HEARTBEAT.
I am a geologist that works on an oil rig and have had Mallory watch my house while I was away. She's a great help and is easy to get along with; the house was usually cleaner than when I left it. The property once developed several serious plumbing issues while I was gone and she helped resolve the issue. Very handy!

Information Mallory G. would like to know about your pet
I have no breed preferences. What I would like to know about a client’s dog before sitting them would consist of the following: what’s their name, what’s their breed, how old are they, are they allergic to anything, what’s their daily routine, do they have any physical or psychological disability, will they require wound care or medication, what and when do they eat, is there anything that triggers anxiety or aggression in them, what do they like to do best, and what’s their overall demeanor and personality?
A typical day
For walks I can take pets on designated routes or in a comfortable radius from the clients home. Although, areas with less traffic will be my guarantee to reduce risk and stress to your pet. I’m good at tug-of-war and catch, but I’m also a master of find the treat or hide-and-seek. If your pet is more laid back I’m a A+ petter and bird watching companion. I’m also not half bad with a brush for furrier friends.
