Pet care experience
I've volunteered at an animal shelter and a zoo working with all types of animals. I was a dog handler at a dog daycare for 2 years where I learned how to understand dog body language and healthy dog play. I also helped with in-home pet care while working at the dog daycare. I have a reactive 12 year old mutt (Victor) that I adore so much. He has been my family's most rewarding and challenging dog yet, and he has improved on handling his emotions after I started learning about positive reinforcement through my dog daycare job. I have pet sat for friends and family and look forward to meeting your dogs and cats too!

For my reactive dog, I play music and use baby gates to block windows he usually barks out of before I leave the house. This keeps him more comfortable and calm while I'm away. In pet owner's homes, I make sure to follow instructions and give pets, treats, and play time before I leave.

Since i have a reactive dog myself, I am willing to help out with yours too! Please let me know ahead of time if your dog has any triggers inside or out on a walk. I'd also like to know if your dog pulls on leash or has other quirks on a walk/in your home.
A typical day
I like to include mental enrichment, physical enrichment, and rest times. Sniffing walks are my dog's favorite! I often do enrichment/engagement games with him where I use his kibble to reward him for tricks (speak, sit, paw, touch etc.), luring onto uneven surfaces to build confidence, and get him moving around our house/backyard. If my dog liked toys, I'd also include those in his routine, but he is more food motivated. I find what works for each dog I care for and what they like!
