I have extensive experience taking care of family and friend's dogs on short and long term stays. Several of my pictures are of dogs that I have taken care of. I would own my own dog in a heartbeat, however, I have been working seasonal outdoor industry jobs in the backcountry which aren't exactly conducive to owning a pet. I grew up with a large Samoyed and have a soft spot for big dogs, though I also enjoy smaller dogs as well. When I initially went to University, I thought I wanted to be a Veterinarian. Because of that, I have spent time interning at a vet's office and am comfortable giving medication as needed. I am an assertive individual and am willing to work with dogs that are in the process of being trained. Biters and aggressive dogs are a definite no-go for me. My living situation is unique in that I am living in a camper van at the Red Rock Canyon Campground (not a farm, like my profile says). My boyfriend is a rock climbing guide here in the canyon, and I am an avid climber and hiker as well. Over night stays at my "house" would have to be discussed on a case-by-case basis based on the dog size and temperament. Day visits are welcomed and I have the entire canyon as my backyard for exploration (not a fenced yard, though so the dog would need to be comfortable on a leash). I am also willing and able to do stays or visits at your home.
