Pet care experience
Hello, my name is Makeda and I am a 3rd grade teacher. Besides my love of teaching, my second love is caring and protecting animals. I love running and playing with dogs. My home is pet friendly and I have a fenced in front yard. I also live close to the National Arboretum and many other pet-friendly parks. My experience with dogs ranges from having a family dog since I was about 9 years old to occasionally pet sitting for family friends. I also occasionally volunteer with the animal shelter. I would like to expand my dog sitter experience and turn it into a part-time career. Dogs are such a joy to be around and I hope you will consider me as one of your dog's best friend!

Makeda was awesome! She was so patient and kind with Kobe while we were away for the week. She sent us pictures and checked in with us periodically while away from our pup. Also loved the fact that she made sure Kobe received a great deal of her undivided attention. Would def recommend and will def be using her again in the future!
My pup enjoyed his stay with Makeda. She took him on long walks and sent photos through my week-long vacation. When I returned he acted like he wanted to stay another day! Thanks for taking care of my pup!

Hi, I only take one doggie client at a time for dog sitting. Dogs that are from the same household are welcomed too, but I do not sit dogs that aren’t familiar with each other.

I would like to know your dogs all of your dog's quirks, every like or dislike. I want to know your dog's medical history for example if your dog has allergies or medication it needs to take. I'd like to know of your dog has strict or loose routine. Basically anything that is essential to your dog's comfort and well-being I would like to know so that I can provide a safe and fun environment for your dog.
A typical day
I'll take them to the National Arboretum. It is a large pet-friendly park that's beautiful and scenic for long walks. I also am a big cuddler, so expect at lot of cuddles and bully rubs!

Availability
I currently run my own small business, so I choose my hours of work. I often work at home or in my studio. Now that summer is here, I have a lot of free time because it’s the slow season.
