I actually had the idea to start pet sitting long before I started working with Rover -- I started my own independent dog walking business when I lived in the Bronx. My decision to become a dog walker/pet sitter came through a simple observation; I immediately noticed just how many older people in the neighborhood were walking their dogs, so I decided to help them out! Since then, I have moved to Queens Village, work from home and have more time to spend taking care of pups. Through my business, I've taken care of every type of dog, from Chihuahuas to Great Danes and I am comfortable with any kind of pup. I also specialize in looking after elderly dogs that need to take medication -- I have all the time and patience in the world for animals in need no matter what age or size. I live near Cunningham Park. and handle all of my visitors by myself, except of course, my dog assistant Xoi, who does an amazing job of greeting our furry, four-legged visitors and helps me make their owners feel at ease with their pup’s stay. I work from home, so my schedule is extremely flexible. My home is near the beautiful Cunningham Park which offers lush grass and a multitude of pathways for us to explore during your furbaby's stay. I’ve lived in my neighborhood for nearly 6 years and my neighbors are friendly and most of them have dogs, so there’s also plenty of company around. But you say your dog isn't a fan of going outside? That's totally fine! I keep plenty of toys for those visitors that like to stay inside and play.
