Pet care experience
Before the age of 12 I lived on a farm with my grandparents in which I took care of many animals, including 2 dogs and three cats. After moving to the suburbs with my mom, I had two cats to care for and love. Currently I am a student at the University of Washington, and my life is too unpredictable for me to take in a pet, which has left me with a hole in my heart. When caring for your dog, I will demonstrate the same love and care as I would if they were my own animals. In doing so I will make sure to respect the routine and parameters set by the owner, to make sure the dog is having the best, consistent experience. I would like to create open, trusting relationship with dog owners, so that they have no worries when leaving their pet in my care. My schedule is variable due to classes and studying time. MWF I am free after 12:30, and TTH I am free between 10:30 and 1:30, and again after 3:30 and before 6:30. Please message me with further questions!

I've known Mahala for years now and I can attest to her experience and love for dogs. An owner herself of a large husky/wolf mix, Mahala is quite experienced with large dog breeds. Her handling and knowledge on the everyday care that your pets need should not be doubted. Choosing her to help you is a decision that both you and your pets won't regret.

Before sitting for the dog I would like to know about any specific behaviors, such as aggression, anxiety, leash pulling, or tells for when they need to go outside. I do not have a particular breed preference, although most of my experience has been with mid to large sized breeds.
A typical day
Since I am unable to board dogs, my walks will be determined on the area in which you live. Typically I try to create walks that fit the needs of the dog, longer for high-energy dogs like Husky's, but smaller for dogs who have different needs. If there is a specific path the dog knows, I will maintain their routine. Otherwise, when in the home, I will direct all of my energy and attention to the dog.
