Pet care experience
I’ve grown up with one parents being a veterinarian and as a result our house was always full of pets of all kinds. I have been house and pet sitting for neighbors and family since I was 15 years old. I volunteer to foster cats as much as possible as I truly enjoy being around animals!

Mahala is amazing! She was incredibly flexible, knowledgeable, kind and patient with both me and my kitty who can be feisty at times. Mahala set up a very comfortable, cat-friendly environment. I knew that my cat, Sansa was in wonderful hands and received pictures and video updates on how she was doing throughout her stay! I will definitely use Mahala again—if she can squeeze me in, because she is in high demand (and rightfully so)!
This was our first booking with Mahala and we could not have left our cat in better hands. Marble was a bit hesitant at the beginning of the stay, but Mahala kindly took all of our befriending suggestions and our cat seemed to have warmed up quite a bit by the end of the week. We are so appreciative of the easy communication and daily pictures/videos of our favorite feline. It was so sweet to watch her personality coming back out as she got more comfortable with having Mahala around. When we returned home the apartment was clean and tidy. We are so appreciative of the help and were able to enjoy a stress-free trip knowing our cat was well taken care of. Would definitely book again :)

I have a one story apartment with a quiet patio area for relaxing. I don’t have a fenced in yard, so when staying over night, pets will be walked on leash. When home and petting sitting, I always like to have a meeting or two before hand to meet everyone discuss expectations for home care! As a dog walker, discussing dogs’ personalities and behavior as well as owner expectations are a must!

Before sitting or walking your dog, I would like to know more about their personality and their individual needs. This way I am better able to care for them. For example, I like to know any routines you may have with your dog or if they have a favorite walking route. I also like to know your, the pet owners, expectations and any questions you may have.
A typical day
A typical day with me will be tailored to fit your individual pup. Every dog has different behaviors and needs and I am happy to adjust each experience to be a great fit for both you and your dog. Typically, we will go on at least two walks per day with plenty of time to stop and explore smells around the neighborhood. Followed by lots of pets and relaxation time.

Availability
I work full time as a preschool teacher, so I have a predictable and stable schedule. I think that will offer a great opportunity to develop a relationship with a pet and pet owner who need a recurring service on a regular basis in the evenings and on weekends.
